Here in the US, I've never seen a Manjula Pothos that large! Great job! I had a little one for several years but it was just NOT growing! It wasn't dying either so I don't know what that was about. Thanks again for a great video. The el choco red is so pretty. I’ve been growing a splendid, a Manjula and a monstera siltepicana el Salvador on moss poles since March this year. They’re both going well despite me stupidly measuring the nutrient solution incorrectly and severely under dosing them which I only discovered yesterday🤦‍♀️ The El Salvador has almost reached the top of the first pole the splendid is getting bigger leaves (so exciting) and the manjula is just living..not much happening there.

Can't choose just one, as I've got both just starting on moss poles myself, with dreams of looking as fabulous as yours! How can you resist trying to propagate by seed. The inflorescences you have may even be crossable. Last year I pollinated my split leaf philodendron inflorescences in April, dried the seeds from the fruit in July. I now have lots of one year old plants. The experience was so satisfying. Hi Jan, I agree you don't need a moss pole to grow a M. Deliciosa. However, here's my case for your type of moss poles: I started watching you and Lee from Kill This Plant when I decided to grow a seedling Monstera Deliciosa indoors for the first time and wanted to learn about indoor growing conditions. 1. The aerial roots can look more tidy inside a moss pole. 2. M. Deliciosa need huge pots. A moss pole allows me to grow in a smaller pot. This is very convenient if you have a small space. 3. The chop and extend process seems easier with a moss pole than with a cedar plank. I actually haven't gotten there yet, as I've just put my baby Deliciosa on its first moss pole, but I'm looking forward to that day. Thanks for all your inspiration. Looking forward to the next time you take us on a green tour around Sidney ❤

I just put an extension on it yesterday, my first one! But it still has not grown roots into the pole at all! Hello Sydney Guy 👋 I saw your first plant on moss pole was over grown and even it was crossing the top of moss pole then what you do with it?

My favorite is always your melanochrysum 😁 what do you do, or would you do, if the pot was full of roots and the roots had made it to the top of the pole but the internodal spacing was so tight that the outside of the pole was 90% unused? I have a billietiae that is pumping out leaves and roots but barely any stem. I have it on a half size pole and the stem with 8+ leaves is only about 10 cm up the pole. Bigger pot?

They look fantastic. But, are they stable enough in this small pots with such a heigth? Is there a reason behind the small pots?
@sydneyplantguy
@sydneyplantguy 14 күн бұрын
Less surface area = room for more plants hehe :) so far haven’t had stability issues :)

Mine will not stay upright 😔 tried potting into terracotta, or into plastic and then placing that in a cover pot. They still fall. USA-based, can't get pots as nice as Jans! Anyone in the USA figured out a potting situation that works?

For your large plants hoe many bottles do u use to get ur moss poles wet
@sydneyplantguy
@sydneyplantguy 11 ай бұрын
Depends on how dry the pole was :) i never let it dry out fully which means usually 1 bottle is enough

Do you start with only one plant in your pot? I bought a small philo and there are 2 to 3 plants in the pot. Should I separate them and plant 1 plant in 1 pot?

Are your thoughts of putting philodendron majestic and philodendron verrucosum on the same moss pole ? ❤🌲🍃🌵☘🍀🌴🪴🌳🌿🌱🌈🙏
@sydneyplantguy
@sydneyplantguy 10 ай бұрын
totally personal preference but the verru grows with much larger internodal spacing so the verru would outgrow the majestic within a season or so.

On one of your videos, you mentioned that you start with a smaller plant right away with a moss pole. When I transfer my rioted cutting to a pot with a moss pole, should I straight use a 20 cm pot or should I start with a smaller pot? Please advise. 🙏🏼✨

Always choose the pot according to the size of the root system of your cutting :)
