If you remember in the movie, at the end when the T800 was trying to grab the shotgun and the T1000 stabbed him with a metal rod it took him some time to find how to shut it down. @hmdwgf
@hmdwgf 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah they would, because it's much easier and less costly to do it now than it was then, and you can do it in much greater detail. Doing only one shot of CGI back when this movie was made was like pulling teeth and throwing million dollar briefcases into the water expecting the briefcases to float to another nearby island. The CG technology was still pretty experimental back then and none of the guys at ILM really knew how long 47 shots would take to produce- this was the first film with effects being digitally inserted into shots- and they had less than 1% of the memory and hard drive space to do these shots than they do now. No one- not even ILM knew if these effects could even work they way they eventually did- and with this movie also being the first 9-figure budgeted movie ($102 million) not adjusting for inflation, to take such an enormous chance on using experimental technology like that with a character that was absolutely essential to the film's story is honestly insane- but they did it.

Especially practical effects. He basically squeeze out every potential juice out of it. The orange glow on the metal after the T800 arrived was just lighting. The opening battle used every trick in the book of practical effects to bring it to life. In True Lies, the truck flip was done with miniatures and they built a near 100 foot long miniature bridge. I think even the strafing Harrier is done with scale models.

Also the coffee cup doesn't emit light that bright to be noticeable on the T-1000. But anyway that's my final stand on it. If you are so depressed you are deemed a danger to yourself and others (depressed to the point of attempting suicide or hurting others multiple times) you can get sent to a facility for awhile. It happened to my sister. It was nowhere near like an extreme mental hospital prison, but it was basically a mental facility/hospital where you had to stay there until deemed mentally fit/safe enough to be released. There was no armed guards or barbed wire fences like this though. Just having "normal" depression or clinical depression where you aren't deemed a danger to yourself or others you don't get sent away to a facility though, of course, if that's what you meant. It just depends how extreme your actions are.

You can tell while the T-1000 lacks in emotion, it makes up for it with calculating coldness. It executes every single move and kill with precision while making backup plans in case things don't go accordingly. It immediately switched to the plan of imitating a security guard once the cops showed up, because he knew he could be potentially busted if they asked for identification (and since every single component of his body is metal, he likely doesn't have one on him).

@@L_Series1996If you saw an identical replica of you walking up to you from behind and silently staring at you, I’m sure you’d be dumbstruck, as well.

The film was just perfect,, right amount of technology n right amount of action. Also the cast fit into the roles perfectly finally the lowkey terrifying score that each character had. It was not overblown like current sci-fi films where everything is blown and ends up looking fake.

I swear... I had my very first nightmare of my life, when the T-1000 came out from the floor, mimicked the guard and then killed him. It happened when I had 3 yo. I dreamed that he came out of my old keyboard, and started forming into that fat guard. I was trying to hide from the T-1000, but saw me at the last minute. I then see him, turning his head to look at me and his finger already formed into that spear-like thing, and gets me out of my hiding spot. If it wasn't bad enough, I see from his perspective how he kills me... And that's why I always freak out with that bit of the scene, although I love how it holds up.

I don't know if it's just me but at 2:44 the way the guard (T-1000) looks at them is like "have they noticed anything? Is my disguise 100% perfect?"
