T-Mobile to Include Hulu with Go5G Next Plans / Netflix on Us Changes

Күн бұрынT-Mobile has announced some changes to the streaming services it includes with some of their postpaid smartphone plans starting January 24, 2024. .
Hulu w/ ads will be included with Go5G Next plans (their flagship plan), and may be included with other plans for 6 months. A $7.99/mo value.
And those currently receiving Netflix Basic will be converted to Netflix Standard - which now has adds, but higher streaming resolution.

I just think it’s ludicrous that when the streaming apps came out, we got away from the high prices of cable and satellite TV. Now we are going right back in the same direction with all of the streaming services, charging more and more every year with these increases, and in no time will be back with the cable prices and satellite TV prices.

I would love to keep Netflix Basic instead of being forced onto a plan with ads. Watching ads is like torture to me, so I expect my Netflix usage to cease soon.

Netflix Basic includes ads.

@@KellyCates0604 actually it doesn't. Netflix Basic only allows for "1 screen" of use, but it doesn't have ads, and it includes access to the entire Netflix catalog. The "standard with ads" plan that we are being moved to - doesn't include access to ALL of Netflixs movies and TV shows, and it comes with ads. It's a true downgrade for me. I'll either have to pay more to get the ad free version, or move to a different streaming platform. Best of luck to you!

My magenta max included 2 devices at 1080p so this is definitely a downgrade for me. I would take one device with no ads over this new plan.

Netflix with ads is no benefit and I will cancel the day of the change. Hulu with ads is pretty bad. They slam you with a lot of ads and ruines the viewing experience. T-mobile's perks are now weak and not worth the higher rates they charge. I will be moving to another carrier at the end of this month.

@@thekaymanwhymanI tried it two times. The first one it said my plan doesn’t qualify, but then I tried again and it worked fine. They gave me Hulu with commercials.

I have go5g plus, so now i have the same viewing perks as a lower plan? F that! And F hulu, i rather they get rid of that crap and give us the no adds netflix again like we had it!

It also includes the magenta max plans. T-Mobile sent be the notification yesterday. It also isn't clear regarding Netflix because I was receiving the Netflix standard with no ads for free with Magenta Max.

I think it was free years ago but i don't remember. my memories start at $2.99, then $4.99, now $8.50 after Jan 25th for me. At this point...why do I need Netflix?

I like the addition of Hulu just to get local TV stations as we currently subscribe to Fubo to get our local TV stations (we're under a flight path to a major airport which significantly and frequently disrupts otherwise good over the air TV reception)

Hulu with Ads does not include their Live TV add-on (which is significantly more per month).

Can you address the issue with IP/location changes for Hulu Live with cellular internet? And what resolution/workaround you suggest?

I would caution everybody out there. Over the last 5 months twice. I have had to call in to t mobile because they took it upon themselves to put me on paperless billing, which is not what I do. Be warned
