Any idea if the Global or Mobile Priority plans would work in Kuwait, after activating the Mini Roam plan here in the states first? Upcoming deployment 😔. I see that Kuwait is listed as coming soon 2025.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter17 сағат бұрын
If they don't have coverage there, then it wouldn't work. But once you activate a dish, Mobile Priority should work globally on land where there is coverage / licensing agreements.

Addendum to this video: If you order the plan the SIM does NOT come activated. You must chat/call Total Wireless and have the IMEI of a Verizon-certified data device in Verizon's activation database. Unfortunately, Total Wireless does not disclose this during the purchase process. Additionally, there are high-speed data add-on options available for purchase.

All a booster does is amplify the signal. They are pretty much analog devices - there is nothing to “hack” remotely at all.

UPDATE: I'm exhausted. 5 reps in 2 days. Tried IMEIs from 3 Peplink routers. None worked. Tried my iPad Pro (unlocked from AT&T). Didn't work. Tried my ancient iPad (also from AT&T). Finally took. SIM worked in iPad. Placed SIM in my Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G x62. It works. Speedtest shows it's Verizon. (BR1 lists as "Home"). Initial results Download 8.95 to 12.55; Upload 0.88 to 1.04. But I don't care. It works! I'm definitely interested in hearing how activating goes for others. WARNING I purchased the 100GB Data Plan and received the SIM card today. So, far unable to activate. They want an eligible device. They don't have any understanding about what a router is. The Peplink IMEI shows as "Locked" on their side. They keep asking which provider I purchased my device from. Showing non-refundable. "SIM cards, airtime plans, delivery costs, return shipping costs, and/or Bring Your Own Phone program purchases, are non-refundable" I'm on hold with the 3rd representative.

Thanks for the heads up. Most Peplink products have gone thru carrier certifications - so they are compatible, but IMIEs are not often in their database.

This is almost reasonable. Considering that everything if high def pic, video, audio and streaming these days, 100gb is not a lot. Is this a contract plan or can it be turned on an off on a monthly as needed basis?

It’s a monthly prepaid plan. No contracts.

Sad Pass. It's just not competitive.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter5 күн бұрын
Curious - what would you personally consider a competitive price?
@spottedcow28885 күн бұрын
$500 for the hardware that includes all the hardware and cables for common nomad use and installation. Which has minimal cost to include. $100 a month for unlimited service. I feel it's OK to cap it's maximum speeds as there doing. I'm currently not willing to jump on board. Wish I felt it was cost competitive to say cellular options.
@MobileInternetResourceCenter5 күн бұрын
Well.. they are not capping speeds, it's just the result of a smaller antenna array of the Mini. Cellular and satellite internet are different things - that have pros & cons, and different costs to deploy. For nomads who really need access where there's no cell service, then Starlink is worth the cost. Otherwise, stick to the cellular coverage map.

@MobileInternetResourceCenter5 күн бұрын
You can actually download a CAD file from Starlink if you need super-precise measurements. But do be aware that rooftop bars might block some signal - Starlink likes a clear view of the entire sky.

By the way there are few apps like Dingtone, they provide cellular numbers from many countries like US UK Australia etc etc, it's functionality doesn't depend on having esim hardware on smartphones, rather it uses VoIP for calls and texts.... I just recently discovered these, and its a very good way to get a local US number before even travelling to the US. While it works on VoIP like whatsapp calls and discord on my end... The calls are actually real, and reciever gets actual real cellular call... For example if I call best buy for some orders, I'll use my internet data, and in app credits while best buy recieve normal phone call. And one more advantage of this is i can sign in to as many smartphones with the same account as I want, and have the same number, so when someone calls, all the phones ring, and i can even expand that to my laptop and desktop PC via using android emulator and getting the app there... Im very excited to get this... I'm getting this in a few days. I don't know if this is what cloud sim means
