It actually upsets me that Eabha isn't featured more in the videos and the vocals - she's gorgeous both to look at and to listen to! Susan's also come up in this last show/album - being the only non-new vocalist, she seems to now not be "the new girl", she's got a new confidence I think. I do get the feeling Mairead (fiddle) feels a bit left out...

susan is the director and big boss in celtic woman now since david has left and to be honest alot of fans i know are leaving because of how she does and her choices.. ie oonagh would have been a great fan puller for more collaboration, Eabha i have known for a long time and she has a voice much better than this.. in anuna her range is much better en she is more fitted for this not CW.. pixie i have followed since lord of the dance, she has blossomed, in fact all as i am spoilt t have artists in my family in ireland and my cousin is still in anuna..
@shannonsherwood64538 жыл бұрын
*****metanice to hear we both have the same idea, pixie and ray stayed, Eabha should leave she is not happy as if you watch her warming up she does this alone in gaelic in the way we were taught in anuna, and she is forever watching tge stairs or doors to see if somebody is coming, i feel sorry for her as she is a true friend as is orla and a few of the original cw girls, chloe and lisa are together hayley has blossomed beyond belief, alex also, they all have yet the people still come and the ticket prices are huge compared to when CW was original
@bridgidoreilly28937 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, I think Eahba is great. Although I do miss a few of the original members. I had no idea that David Downes left. When did that happen and why? I mean i loved this album but i really wish all the original members were back and the new members were there also. Hey I think it would be cool to have Mairead Nesbitt and the violinist who replaced her do a duel.
@shannonsherwood64537 жыл бұрын
Mairead nesbitt will be back as soon as hibernia is done.. Susan started the ball rolling for david, she has been boss for a while now.. Im sorry but i hate her she has just completely shattered what CW stand for.. Eabha has previous experience solo(check you tube)and is awesome(pre anuna),her voice is not BASS.. I miss her alot i went to the concert in the gpo and michael called me over to catch up but i cried all the way through.. I love mariam too and donal.. Michael and john too.. Lets hope susan goes soon..

+Toubee Yang no I think they lip sycned for real. I even have a fan-cam video recording one of their tours. The song was You raise me up and the vocals compared to the studio version were totally the same. I know they have to be on tour all year so maybe this enables them to protect or rest the vocals for a while maybe.

+Hieu Dinh I don't agree - if you listen to the rest of their performances, it's LIVE. How can their vocals for You Raise Me Up be the same live as the studio version when they've NEVER recorded a studio version of You Raise Me Up with Mairead Carlin and Eabha? It's live.

I haven't seen the new group of ladies live but I do miss the older group very much. There seems to be a more modern feel to this which i know isn't a bad thing but I can't help feel it's lost some of the beautiful soulful feel that the older concerts were so famous for. Still a catchy song though and it's nice to see Ms Nesbitt still being an integral part of the group. :)

Okay background to tir na nóg because some people aren’t Irish and don’t know the folklore There was once an Irish prince named Oisin, he knew of the legend of tir na nóg where you would never age and there was a beautiful princess called Niamh but that’s just a legend right? Oisin was out hunting with a few nobles and then one of them accidentally shot him in the back with a bow. The nobles discussed what to do and decided to leave him for dead. Oisin had lost all hope and had accepted he was going to die, he then heard the sounds of hooves, he opened his eyes and there was a beautiful woman, more beautiful than you could ever imagine, she hoisted him onto her horse ( without getting off btw) Oisin awoke in a palace in the middle of the forest which he later learned was called tir na nóg. The woman who had saved him was princess Niamh. Over a few months Niamh and Oisin drew closer and got married. After what seemed like a few years Oisin wanted to say goodbye to his father, he asked Niamh if he could borrow her horse her being the perfect wife she agreed, but gave him a warning not to get off it under any circumstances. Oisin made his way to his fathers castle, upon arrival all he could find were ruins of a castle. Oisin made his way back to tir na nóg but on his way back was an elderly man who’s leg was caught under a heavy stone Oisin, who had forgotten about Niamhs warning got off the horse to help the old man, he lifted the bolder with ease, although a few seconds later Oisin had turned into an old man, older than the man he had helped ( who was pretty old) before a minute had passed since he got off the horse Oisin had died of old age. Legend has it that Niamh is still waiting in tir na nóg for Oisin to return.

Senta-Sofia Delliponti Profile: German singer and actress, born 16 April 1990 in Wolfsburg, Germany. The name Oonagh is taken from a legendary Celtic queen of the fairies. The woman behind the persona, Senta-Sofia Delliponti, is from Germany. But she sings in Elvish, the fictitious language invented by "Lord of the Rings" creator J.R.R. Tolkien. Yeah you're right, i was hoping to hear a real live perfomance, but it actually feels like the sound was edited here?... I mean there's not a even a PEEP from the crowd except for in the very end, and no echo or smth like when you hear live music in a concert hall. My guess is that the sound IS from official video :(
@annsoline7 жыл бұрын
It is a prerecorded track you're hearing, but the concerts you come to are indeed live. This is not because of the current girls (they are amazing, I saw them this summer - literally flawless), it has been like this for years and most likely ever since the beginning. All the DVDs CW put out have the prerecorded audio layed over it so that the audio is of perfect quality for the people watching them at home. You can listen to the audio from the albums and compare them to the DVD/YT performances, they are the exact same. In a few performance clips you can also see editing errors where it's obvious that they switched in between two takes of the same song. This goes for the original girls too! Once again this has nothing to do with the girls' talents, but it's like this to make the home experience as good as possible since most of their fans don't make it to their concerts. The productions want that studio sound quality and everything being shot from the perfect angle at the right timing, this probably has more to do with CBS (or whoever streams this show) than the CW crew. Like I said, the concerts are live and AMAZING. There is so much happening during them that you don't get to see in the DVD's, like the extra performances, tributes, guest artists, talking with the audience etc.

What you said makes sense and explains a lot of apparent minor mistakes in the videos I have seen. However, I have been listening to the Destiny songs ad nauseam and can tell you this version is slightly different from the official Video. I played the videos side by side with the audio staring together (that was not easy), and certain parts move faster in one version than in the other and, possibly the most minute detail, Eabha's voice quality is different though by a small amount you have to listen for. Alto voices are hard for microphones to completely pick up when live, and the result is part of the voice's tonal range (forgive me, for I do not know the official term for it) is left out of live recordings, and that part is the higher tones. This can be edited in the studio, so in this version her voice is missing a small amount of range and is thus not completely clear (emphasis on completely), while in the official video her voice has its full range of tonality because it was recorded in a studio and is completely clear.

Matthew Clifford Any DVD they put out has the album music dubbed over it. They did actually sing it live though. I found a phone video of this performance and it's much different. Mairead Carlin (black haired one) sounds almost out of breath in the "real" version. I wish the producers wouldn't do this to the live videos. It 1) defeats the purpose of looking for live video of them and 2) leads to everyone thinking they lip synch. So unless you're lucky enough to see them live (thankfully I was), you might not know. I *think* the only exception is the Slaine Castle DVD.

So i just stumbled on this today, well the music video version and i have played it a few dozen times now. I love it and have been looking thrue their other stuff. I really am drawn to the lady who sings at 2:14, i like how her heavier voice adds weight against the lighter airy voices of the others.

Yup. It's a tiny wardrobe malfunction at 1:26, and it's back on her arm at 2:04. Doesn't matter. They are all stunningly beautiful, and I could watch this video hundreds of times without ever getting tired of it.

was SO hoping for an actual stage performance of this song! the only good thing i can say about this was that there was a little more rhyme and reason, dare i say choreography, to all the arm flailing! we've got three videos of the exact same thing, the only difference being the setting :(
