Can you tell me the manufacturer and part number of the rebuild kit you used? I cant seem to find a kit that has a nylon friction ring.

I would have used silicone not putty.

Thought I was the only one with that commercial strainer tool... I stopped using putty on those strainers, when you think about the way their made it doesn't need putty..

Any one who's been a plumber long enough and worked on commercial stainless steel sinks should have that tool or your going to have a hard time tightening up that Kline waste . The rubber gasket usually just catches the edge of the sink . I used to cut my own out of red rubber with an Alpax gasket cutting kit, and always install the gasket dry or it will squeeze out on you.
