I like to come back every now and then to listen to this song, it's one of my favorite Hank songs. Kinda explains my limited wardrobe. Also wow, hank looks older with a beard.

I try only to wear clothes without any brand logo on them so I don't buy to wear ads. I like to express myself through my clothing though, and I think that when you dress the way you feel comfortable, you are always expressing a whole lot about yourself. It's just the same as your music playlist in some degree.

Most clothes are made by unethical labour though, so you can't apply really judge any one type of clothing based on that standard

well, yeah, of course, but my comment was toward the song where Hank says that "They're pants made out of plants So it's hard to argue they're unethical" which is wrong bc jeans are made up not only of plants, but labour time, which is exploited heavily. I'm fully aware of this problem through all of the clothing industry, and beyond.

@whyyohyou Fashion is often misunderstood to mean the high fashion clothing we see on the runway, things with brand names or artistic value, but fashion can be found even in a tshirt and jeans. Hank's tshirts say a lot about who he is as a person and his interests, but I think what the song is asking is that society doesn't use his tshirts and jeans as the only means of understanding the big picture of who Hank is as a person.

@RayWilliamJohmnson This is Hank Green. He is a musician. Him and his brother John Green communicate via videos on youtube. A community has sprung up around them, which is now known as Nerdfighters, i.e. People who fight agaisnt worldsuck and for nerdiness. Also, his sign off, DFTBA, is a nerdfighter saying, that stands for Don't Forget To Be Awesome As to why this video is on your homepage, I am unable to say. DFTBA!

Your T-shirts actually say a lot about you. It might not tell us about the amount of money you have, but it shows that you have a sense of humor, shows some of the things you like, some even show your nerdness. Quite a lot to learn from a t-shirt.

I appreciate the information provided in the 'doobly doo' of this video, because, while I definitely agree that clothing should not represent our personality, it's incredibly important to culture and the cultural upbringing that makes up our personalities. Clothing is used ritualistically in many cultures, from birth to death, so it's impact on us and the people around us has an incredibly strong impact.

This song is not saying it's okay to judge people, it's just stating that Hank, personally wears a t-shirt and Jeans. He doesn't say you should. He says nothing more than, "This is what I wear." in song form.

this song is the story of the last 2 years of my life, which are definetly the best years of my life. I'm not saying they were nescessarily the happiest, or the saddest, or the angriest, or any emotion in particular. I've made so many amazing friends, and learned so many things, and have (in my opinion) become a better person overall. and I did most of it in a t shirt and jeans. I think this song sums it all up perfectly. (sorry this comment doesn't make a lot of sense)
