I think the printer costs $1000,-. That is: $400,- for the bare machine.. then $100,- for an octopus pro or similar mainboard.. to have a second z stepper driver to be able to do real z-tilt. Then 100,- for a raspberry pi to run that mainboard and real klipperscreen.. then $100,- for of course a 10 inch android tablet for that klipperscreen.. and finally $200 for a revo hotend.. (why is that needed? because i like to have the same hotend on all of my printers!) and i forgot another $100 for cabling and real silent fans Total $1000,- Thats a lot cheaper than a voron.

Note- i do not have much expertise in 3d printing - so please forgive any mistakes - I have seen some klipper printers with huge fans to cool off the prints because the printer is laying down material so quickly. This printer does not seem to have that large fan and that does not seem to be an issue with this printer or is the built-in fans doing the job?
@TNX2556 ай бұрын
Most likely it has decently powerful part cooling fans in the toolhead.
@LoyalMoses6 ай бұрын
It really is engineering decisions on how to cool effectively. Some are using very focused air for cooling, others are using curtains of air.

Nice review as usual, but what bothers me is that the print speed of 300mm/s was mentioned several times without letting us know what is the max volumetric capacity of the hot end. So with what layer height and width that speed can be achieved and maintained?
@LoyalMoses6 ай бұрын
I did not have the answer to that!
@IVANKALPAKCHIEV6 ай бұрын
@oses That’s understandable especially having in mind it is filament specific. Probably the best way is to measure it for a few of the commonly used filaments. Otherwise the advertised print speed remains a marketing trick 😁
@MrHeHim6 ай бұрын
0.25 layer height and 300mm/s with a 0.4 nozzle is exactly 30mm3/s flow rate (there's flow rate calculators online). I also doubled checked by going on the website and they claim exactly that. And by his claims of lowering the temp without underexcretion those claims are probably on the safe side, but i wouldn't expect good results near 40mm3/s unless you use "high speed" filament

They’re most likely going with a AC bed, running full power from the wall directly to it. They can get by with a smaller, cheaper PSU that way… which is what bambu did on the A1 and know how well that worked out. Let’s hope that bed cable is well thought out.

No one should be buying this printer. In 2024 there is no excuse for not having auto bed leveling and z-offset. if we as a community want the vendors to get with the program and innovate, we need to call it out.
@LoyalMoses5 ай бұрын
I see it differently, I am all for options and choices. What you think are required features, others disagree. Just this week, I've had discussions with business owners that don't want auto-z because they have very precise needs for first layers. Gotta open up the mind a little, not everyone uses them the same way.

Moses, I believe you need to go a little deeper in your reviews if this is one. I see the bed is plastic. Also, the print head is one of a kind. I just do not believe plastic and heat are a good combo for the long run. Did you do a bed mesh on it? Maybe you can do a more detail review down the road. The printer looks like a nice combo, but I'll wait for more reviews. Thanks for your videos I do enjoy them.

In general a review is an attempt at being unbiased, trying to be neutral - which is not possible. As humans, we all have preferences and bias, and that is a good thing. So rather than try to fake being neutral or unbiased, I am just going to be who I am, and you'll see right away if I like or dislike something. I prefer rather to just simply share my experiences. I may do reviews in the future, but for now, I am not interested in them. For instance, it's common for "reviewers" to look for and find a couple of negative things (even if inconsequential) to appear balanced. To me, that is just acting. I am glad we all have bias, that's what makes us unique, and there are things that that don't bother me about printers that literally trigger others. I recommend watching all of the content on a product before making big decisions.

"Do we need the top bar anymore?" You need structural rigidity on x/z, so if you don't have it with a simple crossbar you have to compensate for that. I was wondering why the base was so huge compared to build volume, that and those chonky brackets are to have that rogidity without the crossbar. It looks interesting without those but it's got an unnecessarily large footprint and add ons to compensate for that.

Way too expensive. I'm sure it's very strong. I use superglue with a separate activator. When I try to break it off after gluing, it will either break at another place or chunks off material come with it. So for a fraction of the cost it's plenty strong and it cures in seconds.
