Such a great video, guys. I really like the combo of your favorite sights, spots, and street foods! I laughed out loud when Satoshi said that Kurganeya on Hoppy Street felt like a cafe in France and you responded, Shinichi, "I guess so. It has a slightly different atmosphere, maybe more festive and...filled with drunk people." Hahaha! I love you two. 💖💖

What a fun day out! Love how you suggest folks visit back road, small places. I grew up with an amusement park a few towns over. Wonderful childhood memories. Thanks for putting names of things on the screen. I cannot always decern the words. Love to see a map also. PS - I love sweet bean paste. For years could not find it but now have a new market in area with bean paste buns in freezer section. Someday hope to make it myself. Think you did a vid on cooking it. Might look for that. Hello from sunny and warm Oregon.

Very nice video. Great chemistry between Satoshi & Shinishi. Some crazy food selections (giant onigiri) and others very tempting. I am a big fan of Karaage Yukari to get snacks (especially kawasen) to eat while watching Grand Sumo in my hotel room but will have to try Asakusa Chikin when I visit in January. I think it would be fun hanging out with you two. Will have to investigate your other video offerings.

I stayed my entire time visiting Tokyo in Asakusa at the hotel Tavinos. Such a wonderful spot although a little inconvenient when I wanted to go out to Shinjuku or shibuya, but still totally worth it. Has just a great charm to it. Walking around the temple at night was so beautiful. Also there are two onsens, one hidden off in the alleys, def a more expensive one but it has many different baths and a wonderful restaurant inside. And there is a more local one nearby. Such a great location

I really enjoyed this video. People are surprised when Mika Moo and I say we could spend weeks(more if we had the time) in Tokyo, there’s just so much to walk to and see. We love the trains too. When we travel it’s not to just tick off the tourist spots, it’s to just be, taking a moment and time to imagine what it’s like to be a local. I didn’t like supermarket melon pan but when I had the Melon Pan from Asakusa Kagetsudo I finally understood why they’re so popular. Nearby is Suzukien Asakusa, it’s matcha icecream is awesome, I had the strongest matcha with black sesame - oh I miss it.

Recently subscribed to your channel. Awesome content and hopefully you can answer some of my questions: 1. My family of 7 will be arriving in Japan Haneda Airport on December 22, 2023 and we are planning to stay in Japan until December 29, 2023, unless you have other recommendations in places to stay. 2. What would you recommend things to do during this time. Are the shops, cafe and other things open? 3. We are planning on staying in No.366 APA Hotel Asakusa Shin Okachimachi Ekimae, and would like to know if this place is a good place to stay centrally to visit Shinjuku, Shibuya, Sumida, Sensoji Temple and other point of interest. Is this a good place to stay? Any other suggestions you would have would be surely appreciated.

Thanks for subscribing! Asakusa is a great place to stay although it is further away from places like Shinjuku and Shibuya. All shops will be open during your stay. We don’t celebrate the Christmas holidays here so it’s a normal working day here, but you’ll be able to enjoy the holiday illuminations throughout the city.

I have fond memories of drinking Hoppy in a tiny Izakaya in Asakusa... The ratio of Shochu to Hoppy increased with each round ordered, until I was ready to sing some Karaoke (for like 150-200 yen or so per go) and tortured the ears of whoever had the misfortune of being near. Guess I will be getting weird looks too when I come back and order Soto-only Hoppy because I can't drink alcohol any more.

I thought I would never take a rickshaw because I felt it was exploitation of people who could not make a living any other way. But the drivers you showed seemed to enjoy what they were doing - I guess it is a great way to stay fit. I just hope they can make a living that way. For their sake, I think it is appropriate, as was the original tradition to have only one passenger. I would not like to see a pair (or more?) of large tourists wanting a ride.
