Thank you for taking the time to make the video, much appreciated sir. Both the fill and drain torque specifications from Toyota for the Hilux model are 37 Nm. Toyota Like many manufacturers use same parts on various different models across their range. You would be safe with that.

Other videos say 27 ft pounds. When I don't know the torque ft pounds, I tighten the drain plug until it stops turning, then I tighten it one quarter turn, compressing the quash plate. Good walk through video. Thanks.

Hi, I like your channel. I have had 2004 Toyota sienna for over 11 years with 189k . Never changed a transfer case gear oil , and transmission oil can you suggest shell i change them ? So far I have no problem with a shifting? Thanks in advance

I believe the torque is 39Nm (=28.7 ft/lb). I have the same size of screw on my Corolla, and its repair manual says 39Nm.

I am having trouble breaking these plugs loose on my transfer case. IM afraid I might crack the case. Whats the best way to break them loose? Heat? I have soaked them in kroil penetrating oil today.

Transfer Case torque specs for 2007-13 Tundra are 27 Ft-lbs, probably about the same for the Tacoma.

I looked it up, and you're correct. It's 27 ft/lbs for both bolts. I own a 2013 Tacoma 4x4 with the 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine. Awesome trucks!

The thing about the four cylinders is replacing the fuel filter it stuck between the engine block in the air intake manifold way to go Toyota

Did you check the frame on that '99 Tacoma? Those things had a recall due to frame perforation. Toyota bought back my 2000 Tacoma because the frame was rusted through.

My top bolt is on way too tight and just attempting with hand tools is stripping it. Seems to be aluminum. Im guessing an impact wrench is a bad idea?

Get a set of rounded bolt extractors and replace the plug with a new one

I believe the torque for both bolts is 27 ft/lbs.

Does the transfer case has breather valve like the rear diff?

Yes, The breather hose is op the top of the transfer case. Very important to secure it properly.

Hello! 2008 Tacoma sport 264k miles shuddering and vibrating under seat whenever i hit 2k rpm or hard acceleration but only does this towards the end of a gear or higher rpm,, not at all at low rpm or from a start,,, i was sure it was my front ujoint as i saw the bearing dust stripe on my undercarriage but the shop said no they think its transmission. Ive read alot that a flush fixed this problem and u joints. Do you think i should change it out and this might work and if so do i HAVE to change filter? or does his sound like ujoint? One day i did hear i tiny squeak from ubder the truck when i accelerated further making me think its a u joint. BUT i got the truck at 100k miles and is now 264k and ive NEVER changed the fluid yet (i know dont hate me),, any suggestions? Great channel btw, open to anyone who wants to help thanks!

Did you figure out what it is? I was thinking carrier bearing possibly? Did you ever do drain and fills on the transmission fluid? I’m curious to know what the issue was.

@@MrRedHotChiliMan yes it was the u joint(s) (forgot if it was more than one) but the bearings had disintegrated so it was wobbling all over the place. No fluid change thank god (heard horror stories) just took the shaft down and instantly saw the wobble in the u joint and when i took thebjoint off all the bearing dust just spilled out so reolaced and ran like a champ!

@@cbosmooth yeah, that’s the same truck I have but mine only has 147k on it currently. Mine has starting to make a strange metallic rattling noise that happens while accelerating, and worse under hard acceleration. I think it may just be a loose heat shield or something(hopefully) because the truck is running and shifting fine. My question was pertaining to doing any drain and fills before you started having issues. I haven’t had the truck long but I plan on doing a drain and fill on the trans about every 40-50k along with the rear diff, t-case, and front diff.

@@MrRedHotChiliMan oh i gotcha,, i actually have a slight rattle sound which may be the same hing but yea no fluid changes and if its what i experienced you will know immediately you literally cant go over 60-70, apparently they're notorious for this so if it happens to you try to remember these comments (since then ive found tons of posts about it) good luck!!
