Wendy is known for a better vocal range. Taeyeon has much better control of her voice. Wendy might get better over time, right now Taeyeon wins as a better singer. It would be nice for them to do a duet.

The gap between them isn't that big. Taeyeon is more experienced for sure, but Wendy has 4 octaves and a wilder range, more even than Taeyeon. Anyways, SM vocal line is implacable.

Taeyeon has lots of experience she is like 10years in industry didn't mention about the trainee days too. Meanwhile Wendy a junior in this industry. But the gap of techniques is not big. Wendy has a lot time to learn too, and one day she will be the next bright soloist from SM.

The adorable mother-daughter main vocalists of SNSD and Red Velvet in a vocal battle! A4-G5. Nothing but love for these ladies. Bless your ears with their voices. SM really needs to give them a duet, it is long overdue! I tried to use some different note choices for Taeyeon other than the ones I usually do. (That Baby Baby C#5 will never die though lmao). I will continue to follow these amazing women, and hopefully they continue to improve, continue to serve us vocals and continue serving bop after bop! *No hating on either of these ladies, nor hating on other people in the comments. Taeyeon's voice is too precious. She can sound strong and powerful af but also soft and make your heart melt. Taeyeon is also good at resonance. Her notes up to D5 are almost unbeatable. Timbre wise Taeyeon already won for me though. For the Fine and Holler one for D5 and F5 I wished you got a better example though. For G5 Taeyeon sounded best to me.

Wendy has more ease to access higher note, but technically singing Taeyeon is a bit better in term of support and has bigger resonance in A4 ~ D5 range..

I love the comments section! I was preparing myself to see fanwars below but I'm really delighted to see that SONEs and Reveluvs get along so well! I know that we have different opinions on who can sing better/ whose voices we prefer more but at least we're mature enough to agree that both are really talented vocalists! I hope every other vocal battle videos are as mature as how SONEs and ReVeluvs are. :)) I love both vocalists. I listen to them both but for me, it's Taeyeon. From tone and resonance alone, she already wins for me, hands down. But really, Wendy is also a vocalist to watch out for! I like her tone too especially when she shines more in her solo songs/ sm stations. More power to both!! :D

i love both and there is no need to compare them, but i kinda have the feeling that wendy can hit those notes more easily because of her expression and bodylanguage, it looks like it’s not a big deal for her to hit these notes.

Wendy has a potentially wider vocal range, but Taeyeon has more resonance in her supported range. They are almost the same in terms of overall technique. Most vocal analysts would put them on par with each other, without saying which is better (because they are too close)

It don’t really matter who’s better or who’s best because each lady has her own skill, her own capacity, her own talent and her own ability to be who they are. We can all sit behind our key boards and criticize, BUT, we need to ask ourselves, could I have made it through the training? Could I have survived the grueling test of endurance? I'm gonna go with Wendy I'm just amazed how she can sing high notes without being loud. Normally when you sing high notes you get louder. When you can sing high notes in a very not loud manner you have a great control of your voice. Loud singing doesnt equal good singing. She sounds that she still can reach higher notes it doesn't sound like her highest. No hate to Taeyeon I also like her they're both amazing vocalists. But I think Wendy has a healthier technique.

This is just my opinion: Taeyeon's voice is strong, powerful. But when it comes to high notes, she can hit them but she strains most of the time. Nevertheless, she is a good singer with cool and powerful tone of voice. Wendy's voice is simple but pleasant to the ears especially when she hits the high notes. Anyhoo, both are good vocalists.

Taeyeon's voice is more emotional in a way. Her belts are amazing, her vibratos are chefs kiss and her control is great. Wendy on the other hand seems to have that more natural talent in singing. She doesnt have amazing control over her voice but her range is really good. Her high notes dont sound strained. Personally I really enjoy Wendy's voice. Shes been training more over the years and her voice still isnt as emotional as Taeyeon's but her control has improved a lot.

the impresive thing about this is that they are using their mixed voice!! usually we can get that high but using our head voice, but they are are using mixed voice which requires a lot of technique and support! I pick wendy because she is able to do vibrato while hitting those high notes in mixed voice
