Excellent episode taff, great work in sinking those fishing boats and crabbers, those are really great targets to destroy, not only are you impacting the enemy's food supply but your also wiping out early warning vessels and destroying some well trained gun crews and also performing great psychological impact on the enemy, the more vessels like that you destroy.. the more your enemy will realise they picked a fight with the wrong country.. though.. being fanatics.. they'll not admit that. Those vessels were topped by a sweet kill on that merchant, think of it as the main course in today's episode.. those smaller vessels were just appetisers. Great episode, more tonnage wiped out and the war continues to flow in our favor, looking forward to the next episode, keep it up and well done mate 👍

Your Bofors AA gun is a 40mm and very good at handling fishing boats and that ilk at close range. Your Oerlikon AA guns are your 20mm. You can use your "Big Eyes" to get the range instead of just guessing and wasting deck gun ammunition. When you're on the deck gun and that close just back out of the telescopic sight. The gun has a close range sight after all.

We had 3 methods of adjusting targets once correct for line to target Taff. Bracketing, Direct and Creeping. You were bracketing which we were always taught is go bold and try keep it to even numbers so it’s easier to actually half the difference to bracket the target. Add 800, drop 400, etc. If you see your add was still short you weren’t bold enough and you’re creeping the fire. Problem there is you might waste a lot of ammo as the rolling high waves hide range. Enjoy your vids, I do wonder if the subs actually killed so many poor fishing boats?

Probably ammunition. Japanese merchant shipping was severely depleted by US Subs and most of the available ships left were little fishing boats and junks.

USS Barb sank a whole bunch of them. They directly supported the IJN and IJA and often had para-military on board. I imagine more than a few carried something other than just fish.

Only a modest increase...up to 628,910 tons. Wasting time with sampans and fishing boats...I usually skip them altogether as they're really not worth your time.

I haven't played the game myself, but based on other WWII games I'm guessing armor piercing, high explosive, and star shells for illumination (which I highly doubt a sub used often)

I have Silent Hunter 4 Wolves Of the Pacific on CD not Steam and need updates and some fixes. I have windows 11 and it seems to be working pretty good except for game settings, I sent it for limited fuel put that doesn't work, never runs out of fuel, limited Battery works, para-scope doesn't give ranges.
