Crazy fishing session using leftover bait! After doing an all-night big Carp session what better to relax than just start fishing again through the following day...Sleep not required....In this episode GP scrapes together whatever groundbait he has left from a night trip and aims to catch fish using it in another lake. He has no quivertip rods but marries together 2 of his Carp rods to his regular reels in the hope that it might do the job. Using banded pellet as hookbait he fishes both a margin rod and another cast further out..which one will produce the action ??...Then its back to the Totally Awesome film studio when he goes through lots of random tackle and bait theories that will surely get you thinking...Just under an hour long there are plenty of random ideas from the fisherman that always enjoys thinking "outside the box. Enjoy.

The homemade feeder looked very much like what's called a banjo feeder, they're good when you don't want to put too much feed in but you want that neat presentation that you get with a method feeder. Personally I don't think they're much good under an ounce in empty weight (both method and banjo) as you really need the weight to give the bolt effect, you end up getting hard to identify bites otherwise where you're either striking at liners or missing proper bites. Method feeders are hard to beat for early season tench, a nice fishmeal groundbait with a few bits and pieces mixed in (not too much or it'll fall apart on the drop) and then a worm cut into 3 bits and threaded on a hair rig, they're absolute suckers for it. As for your question about boilie life - fresh ones (freezer bait) will rot after a couple of days, gas up and float to the surface. Shelf life can vary, some brands last a week or two before gassing up and coming to the surface whereas others can stay more or less recognisable for months. Its mildly concerning but the up side is that you can leave shelf life boilies soaking in a bucket of some kind of diluted attractant for a week before a session and they'll have fully soaked through ready to leak out attraction when in the swim. They'll be much softer than straight out the pack but still tough enough to catapult or put out a reasonable distance with a throwing stick. I like doing this on silty lakes as I feel it stops the baits picking up that silt smell as they hydrate and suck in water on the lake bed which I feel could potentially mask the attraction.

Enjoyed theory time a lot Graeme. Maybe not as many all at once though,. would like to comment on quite a few so would end up writing an essay 😉. I have been battling what must have been a massive wasp nest for a few months. They were under the house floors they had got in through an air brick. They were coming up through the floor boards dozens at a time. Nightmare stuff several cans of nest killer and wasp powder later I think I have them beat. Amazingly neither the good lady or myself were stung once. ATB.

Hello great video , yes wasps are very very bad this year I have a wasps nest under ground in my rockery I got stung once ,before I knew they were there , I'm A self employed gardener 2 weeks ago I was cutting back some overhanging scrub and went straight through a wasps nest with my hedgecutter got stung by my eye and 5 times on my scalp , my left side of faced swelled up I had to take 2 days off work took antihistamines to get swelling down , had similar experience 2 years ago trampling across some ferns stood on a underground nest whilst cutting a hedge got stung about 5 times they went up my t shirt got trapped, I think this year its been the humid weather in September thats made them very aggressive, also watch out for flowering ivy in hedges they love it , all the best .jason

great video again graham....now reference theory to the boilie breakdown times, people need to understand if you buy boilies off the shelf they are usually full of preservative's that make them shelf life, if you go for the frozen type these tend to breakdown as they have no preservatives in, but another point to mention is not to be fooled as some companies still put preserved boilies in the freezer to convince us were buying fresh, my experience is buy them from someone you can trust and know what they are being made from👌😉, keep the good work love watching the videos.

Many years ago I was fishing a lake and I walked over to my friend and said “I’m being plagued with wasps” he came over to where I was fishing and said “your right there’s loads of them” he went through the bushes to see if he could find the nest, as he walked back to me he spotted the nest and he said “get up slowly and don’t bang the ground” as I was getting up he showed me a hole in the bank right between my legs, this happened to be the nests entrance, boy was I lucky I vacated that spot so quickly I was a blur. I always thought wasp nests where above the ground not in it.

I had the same with wasps in holes in my garden ground, I poured a vast amount of petrol down the holes and lit it straight after, due to the petrol vapour being really condensed it exploded the ground like a mortar. Luckily, I poured a huge amount of petrol down or the wasps would have flown out and stung me to hell, but the ones that actually got out the hole all flew at me on fire and dropped down burning to death. I had a few jack daniels beforehand beforehand, hence the idea lol. Now i just have the rats under the shed to deal with.... i'm off to get some JD now..

well they do have those Pharangeal teeth which they use to crush their food up like all Cyprinids,but as for the actual dissolve rate,I don't know. Maybe someone else does. It could be once the outer skin of the boilie is broken then the inside breaks down quicker.

Yes we have lots of ground nesting wasps in bc Canada Yes they appear to be way more aggressive than regular wasps More often than not they’re discovered by children playing in grasslands, my daughter was stung under both eyes and later received two black eyes from the nasty little suckers. !

It is a shame,a piece of traditional fishing history.But I still haver a couple of unseen films left. Might save them for a dark winter's night when we are all huddled round a couple of candles.

Gas the wasps! Smoke them out! Pour molten wax into their nest. As kids we used to try and blow them up firecrackers. Didn't work well. Expanding PU foam into their nest?

It would stop them snipping off,but then you probably wouldn't catch any fish !

Probably the last traditional Estate fishery available to the public . Certainly that I know of. I guess everyone has been lucky to fish it on a ticket for so long. Some good fishing there,and great surroundings.

@TAFishing
@TAFishing 11 ай бұрын
You would be amazed how hard it is to break 6lb line with an Avon fishing rod, I've done all the tests with scales,in fact there is a whole film up,I think its called how to set a fishing reel drag or something.Should be in our playlist.

My friend was bitten by a false widow spider and it became all infected and she was in a lot of pain and made her quite ill so be careful with spider bites. Ground wasps are a pain I was stung 20+ times after running over one with a mower when I worked in garden maintenance

Many years ago my grandmother had a garden shed which she did not use in the winter, one spring I tried to enter the shed to get some tools, but the door was tight so I pushed and it opened and I entered, when I turned around I saw that I just had broken a wasp's nest in two and the whole door frame was filled with very angry wasps.

I'm afraid I am a total failure in the big Carp world as I haven't been anywhere to get a 60 or 80 pounder...Mine was a river Common of 35lbs...I'm happy enough with that as I don't want one of those barrage balloon Carp. It has to be a natural shape.

The yellow stripe, wasp like body, and ground or fallen log near, is indicative of the yellowjacket here in the states. They can and do sting more than once, and will chase an invader for approx. 50 yards. I now have to carry an Epi-pen due to 2 attacks of 25 or more stings. Your description is adequate....not pleasant and lasts long... 😂
