I loved this tag. Each time you post a video, I promise you I learn something. I can't wait to pick up the plays by Katori Hall and In the Blood. Loved the way you talked about MLK Jr in his last days. So many things...."one thread in a tapestry", "you just want to be human", "the way we feel that we have the right to control poor people." I share your views on the Native Son. The one sentence in the book Native Son that still stays with me today is his longing to fly but white people having the power to keep him from living his dreams. I know Bigger Thomas too. Awww. So much in this tag and your words. Much love to you.

I'm also happy that booktube has grown to the place where readers like you are representing those great writers and not letting their work be ignored or forgotten.

I have been saving this video because I wanted to give it my full attention. Your videos are always so good Mickey and really make me think. I can't believe I haven't read Citizen yet, Didi's reading of it made me cry 100%. I have to buy this. As soon as I get book money next month I am getting it. Such a great video.

+BRWNFRUIT Thanks so much for this!! I always feel like nobody would want to sit through a 10+ min video but now that you've said that I will stop speeding them up. Thanks again for your kind words.

Thank you, Walkinthe for checking out the book tag. It was important to me to create the tag because I really think there is a healthy way for us to talk about race relationships and books.

I'm in a little bit of a reading drought (especial after HP: the cursed child). I may have to look into Parks this weekend.

+Kits Universe I've never read a book where the ending is so well-earned. Celie deserves everything she gets in the end and it is just such a beautiful piece.

+Lectito in Spain Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who think that there is no problem with race relations in America and that black people just make this stuff up to excuse our failures. I just ignore them.

What books do you suggest for overcoming victimhood mantality disorder?
@walkinthewoods981

It's spelled mentality. Check out Jane Elliott. Maybe she can help you overcome white privilege victimhood.

+Walkinthe Woods How can my whiteness be classified as a "privilege", when according to you, privilege is the catalyst of my victimhood m_ntality disorder?
