Travel Service becomes the 275th airline to join our series!! The airline as founded exactly 20 years ago (1998) and is the biggest airline in the Czech Republic. The airline also operates SmartWings and owns Czech Airlines, also featured in our series! Travel Service operates over 30 Boeing 737s although only 2 of them are of the 900ER version which we're delighted to feature in our series for the 1st time having filmed all models from the 200 through the 800!
For the program we picked on of the most interesting and fun routes/airports with Funchal, Madeira. Always a great place to fly in and out of. You will enjoy our pilots who give you all possible information about the airline, airplane, route, airport and more!

This flight instructor knows what he is doing. I have always wanted to be a Commercial Airline Pilot, if I ever could afford the training, I would want my flight instructor to be like this one is!

Great job and vlog. Think of Sterling airways who was one of the pioneers of this airport, also BX, DA, BU and DE. NB started with DC-6s and then the Caravelle. Imagine doing a take off with a special ops 727 with a MTOW of 94,4 t on a 1600 m runway. All flights to the nordic countries had a fuel stop at FAO. This airport and island is on my bucket list. Does JP have the circle to land app into ALF/ENAT? I know you have the other one on board a DY 737-300.

SuitedDragon no one will take that comment seriously. Tap flies daily into Madeira, they are the national airline.

And ? Many other airlines fly daily on madeira,and all pilots are trained exactly the same way since this is a captain only airport and each captain has to receive a special training ,so there is no differences at all between Tap and other airlines,only the fact that Tap is portugese. Be informed

There are two manufacturer for the mcp. One of them make bigger square buttons, the other one has smaller buttons which have these characteristic doubled LED.

No not really. They can go into the low 170's too. Anything in the 160 is quite normal, especially Flaps 1 on a long runway.

Dutchbird757 ummm you clearly have no idea what your talking about. No plane, not even the A380 would ever take off at 170 knots. That would be wayyyyy overspeed and the plane would most likely dangerously drift to the side of the runway during liftoff at that speed. The high rate of airflow and sensitivity of the controls at that speed while on the ground would make a takeoff almost impossible on any plane. The fastest a plane normally takes off at is around 160 knots for Blackbirds and other fast fighter jets.

XplanePilotMaste r Haha. You are way wrong my friend. Are you a 737 Captain? If the answer is yes you need more studying. If no then listen to someone who is. The maximum speed to be any issue is 195 knots ON THE GROUND.

Looks beautiful in the cockpit...Unfortunately it doesn’t look the same in passenger cabin...With almost no space, no service, no smiles from attendants...Just glass of water. But cockpit work looks great)

Depends what you consider "very short runway". It is 2781 meters. I have seen A330-300s, B777-200s and even a B747 there.
