I do this too. I'm a hobbyist of electronics and I dismantled the old microwave in my house. I took out some parts like the transformer and Other parts and I sold them, but you must pay attention to the capacitor, it must be discharged by cross-poles because it retains the charges

OMG thank you so much. I'm not sure which model you have, but I have an LG B7A(2017 model) unfortunately. With this TV not only do I have major burn-in but the Wi-Fi stop working, and the remote malfunctions. I recently found out that dust gets inside the ports which could cause the module to malfunction. A malfunctioning Wi-Fi card will make your internet undetectable, and your magic remote will only partially work. With you help I took apart my TV, and was able to clean it. Thank GOD I was able to get it back on, and by a miracle my Wi-Fi started working again as well as the remote.

Is your TV still usable with the burn in?
@JaronWheeler
@JaronWheeler 2 жыл бұрын
@@lewisevander So yes the TV is still usable with burn-in. The only issue I really faced with it is that the colors would be kinda offset due to the yellow blob in the middle of the screen. Colors would change and look off depending what's on screen but it still functions. However this past May of 2021 I did speak with a LG rep, and they replaced it for me. So I only had to pay for the cost of repair which was $150 through the TV repair services they outsourced for me. The panel was free so I'm glad I was able to get it fixed. I also have the burn in video on my channel if you want to ever check it out.
@lewisevander
@lewisevander 2 жыл бұрын
@@JaronWheeler the older oleds were more prone to burn in unfortunately. The newer models have a bigger red pixel which decreases the risk. But from the video I saw on your channel that doesn't actually look like burn in but more of a screen uniformity issue which is only visible on a white screen. It's great to know that you managed to get the screen replaced but since lg agreed to do that for that price it again seems like it wasn't burn in as lg doesn't cover burn in in the warranty. I am planning to go for the c1 if I manage to get my Samsung frame qled replaced. Unfortunately the qleds are no match for the olds when it comes to picture quality. You can watch the burn in test on the rtings channel on KZfaq.

Pretty sure that T-Con board (possibly overheating) is the culprit for many issues with the '18-'19 models.. I've already replaced two panels with the dreaded big green blob. Did you notice a change in that board for the '20-'21 models?

I recently swapped out my lg c8 mainboard for a c9. Worked perfectly. You just need the wifi module. But with a b6 your biggest blocker would be the mounting holes and io (hdmi ports etc) not aligning.

Tv sometimes only has sound no shows picture. Only happens if u turn off and quickly want to turn on tv again. After 40 min complete off it works fine. I'm in the NY area.

I have a OLED65C9PUA with 1 single vertical line right in the center of the screen, top to bottom. It is only visible during blue screen startup or very dark or black content. Do you got any tips on how to diag that single line on a LG ThinQ screen? I was wondering if it's big dollar OLED panel issue or something smaller?

I just did this with my USA bought OLED65B8PUA and it works fine in Australia on 220-240v. Posts on the AVS forum suggested it should work but I didn’t want to take any risks so I opened up the back and sure enough the voltage is listed as 110-240.

@iVelorium
@iVelorium 4 жыл бұрын
Well from the sounds of it you'd need to start by taking it apart and testing for voltage. I'm not sure if you can wait the capacitors out or if there's a way to safely discharge them, but either way if you know how to test for voltage then you can do that. Safest way is to replace all the boards, starting with the power supply board (since you have no power). Boards for this unit are cheap so if you want to try restoring it you can. Otherwise if the panel is good you can try selling it as-is for a few hundred bucks

Hello, Sir, I'm getting a big doubt about LCD/LED TV's COF IC. I'm not get any idea about this, because, I don't have Microscope and DSO. If you spend some time for me, please take a small test about this COF with IC & without IC. Because everybody knows all signals coming from the T-CON board to the LCD panel with the help of the COF bonding method. Why need this COF and what is the role of this IC. This IC's data is missing or this is not an IC. Please clarify the truth about this COF to all TV technicians.🤔

I have an LG OLED65B7P that gets a thin red vertical line appearing on the left side of the screen, which fades out as it goes down the screen about a foot or so. Most of the time though I can see the line all the way down the screen, but it's very faint. After about 15 seconds then it goes away, but always comes back every minute or so. It's being replaced under the warranty because apparently it's cheaper to replace than fix. This seems so wasteful and I'd like to find a way to fix it, since they don't want me to return it. Any ideas?
