Navy Seal Gold Edition 3508 is the first Luminox I have reviewed on the channel and I'm impressed. This particular version is the Luminox 3508 and is part of their navy seals watch collection. I think this is a real evolution for the Luminox brand and a real contender to the more fashionable g-shocks like the g-shock frogman it Rangeman g shock.

I’m shopping for my 2nd Luminox. My first one was a Navy Seals model in black & white. I bought it in 1996 while waiting for patches to be sewn on my new police shirts. I wore it daily in the ghetto community I worked for, for 22 years. Even as I retired, the tritium glowed. I gave the watch to my son, who is actively serving in the US Navy in I. T.. He liked it’s readability in a darkened communications room. The tritium finally died in 2019, and my son got a new watch.

Brilliant getting TEEJ on for his impression. As far as a military requirement the difference to me would be whether I can see the time in the dark at a quick glance or do I need to push a button to light up a digital display. So is this the difference between a G-shock and a Marathon/Luminox/Ball solution? If I have to move my hand off a control stick to use my watch then Tritium tubes win for me. Of course other functionality may be more important. For this model, I’m not into the color scheme, but I understand for whom it’s trying to appeal. Great episode.

I don't think the brilliance of the digital GShocks quite crosses over to the analog range. The Marathon does it better I feel. But the play in the bezel (

Very difficult to stand up against the G-Shock range....way cheaper and in my opinion, way tougher. Not really warming to this brand, always thought they are a tad over hyped.

All quartz Luminox are crap. Open them and see what is inside. They look good but t's a low quality brand. I had two and after I opened them to replace the batteries, I saw a cheap components. Navy Seals use Casio G-shocks, Suuntos not Luminox.
