Great demo I really appreciate it being that I will have to travel with my first scooter on an airplane. I’ve always had Wheelchair Assistance at the airport.

The Atto cost like $3000 the IGo has a much better price point!
@estrella7081

@@martyman1 The Atto is to long from seat for me (I'm 5' tall) and turns in a wider radius but has a cushion plus a bag that zips below for greater storage med size pkgs. The back of the Pride I-Go seat appears to be flimsy to place a wire basket for groceries which the Pride A Go-Go has.

Great video. I need a foldable travel scooter. I can't walk or stand more than 15 minutes. This looks like what I need for cruises also.

I’m disabled and planning to travel alone. I learn so much from watching your videos. However, I would appreciate a demonstration by a disabled person. I wonder how I would fold andunfoldthe scooter, and how I would 😊 handle the pieces when broken down.

Great, informative video! You didn’t need to remove the battery prior to the scooter being stowed?

Normally you do, but in this case I think they forgot to ask

Really good solution for us who need mobility assistance. Unfortunately i weight 320 so I'm too heavy for this product. I do have a Pride Jazzy 1450 I really like that has needed nothing in four years except one set of batteries which I just replaced... I can walk and stand just not for very far or long....knees...

Sergio, Thank You for sharing your experience. Good information, Question, on the I-Go, did you have to bring the battery with you on the plane or were you able to leave it with the scooter? Russ
@MobilityDirect

You'll need to remove it since it uses lithium batteries. Lithium batteries must be removed before gate-checking your scooter and brought on the plane with you. In regards to the battery, did you have to do anything with it at check-in, at TSA or at the plane’s entrance? I had a total knee replacement two years ago, a revision 7 months ago and need the other knee done, so I’m about to buy one; I like the sugar plum I-Go, and don’t want any airport surprises ☺️

If your scooter uses sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries, they can remain in the scooter for your entire trip. If your scooter uses lithium-ion batteries, you must identify the watt-hours and ensure they are less than 300 watt-hours. You can calculate the watt-hours by multiplying the voltage and capacity of the battery (ex. 12v12ah = 144 watt-hours). Travel-friendly scooters with lithium batteries will come with a specification sheet to show the airline that it is under 300 watt-hours and FAA-compliant. Lithium batteries must be removed before gate-checking your scooter and brought on the plane with you. Of course, ample research is still recommended or you can also reach out to your airlines before booking your flight. Our blog post can also greatly help fill you in with what you need to know: www.mobilityscootersdirect.com/blog/mobility-scooters/traveling-on-an-airplane-with-a-mobility-scooter/ Thanks for watching and commenting! What about the lithium battery removal?? You had to remove and place in carry on last minute??
@MobilityDirect
@MobilityDirect Жыл бұрын
Yes, you will need to remove the battery in most cases. In this case they did not ask me to. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The airline companies are not very well trained on how to handle these types of things to be honest. We have done many videos like this one and 50% of the time they don't even ask about the battery.
@lewiscrowley1480
@lewiscrowley1480 11 ай бұрын
BIG THUMBS DOWN. You're supposed to remove the battery. Half the time, you need to be reminded. Half the time, you get away with leaving the battery. Months ago this was brought to your attention. Option 1 fix the video. Option 2 pull the video. Option 3 intentionally continue to offer really bad information.

Does anyone know if you can get a zippered cover to go over the folded scooter and zip for transport on plane. some of the smaller planes do not have tie-downs. If it is enclosed it can travel on the plane. I am trying to find an oversized suitcase to put it in also, but a proper bag would be great Thanks

Not one made specifically for this product. At least not yet.
@diogotrombini3902

Yeah, that would be great! The only scooter that i know that have a designed suitcase for it is the Yoga S542. It's a shame that manufactures don't pay attention to this.
