Part 1 in my latest build. I'll be taking apart an ordinary Honda Metropolitan & hopefully turning it into something great!

For sure! Initially I wanted to do it up nice for my wife, but she didnt want "any of that fancy stuff on it". I had to put the Ruckus swingarm & mini fatty on it without her knowing. When she saw it she said "Why did you ruin my bike?!". 😂

I gotta admit.. I gave up on the straight Met. I just don't have the patience for the detail this season. Stoked to watch and hopefully motivate me for next time.

Mental Builds I was thinking the same thing.. I keep looking at the rear plastics.. I can't see using em for a while. No point in holding em.

PLEASE tell me how you got the hard to reach screws off on the plastics under the seat/surrounding the engine! Having a really hard time getting to those.

There’s 1 screw on the back of each side skirt, 2 screws under the gas cap cover, 4 bolts hold the seat and storage compartment in and 1 bolt that hold the rear of the grab bar. Other than that I don’t think anything else holds the rear plastics on unless I’m forgetting something. The whole rear section lifts right off, you just have to disconnect a couple wires.

How much did you pay for that back tire?,did you have to make any modifications to fit it in ?

I jus picked up a ruck arm and I noticed the same leak out of what I calla weep hole

I had that problem with a GY6. Every time I ride it I would have a mess on my rear wheel. Wound up being a bad seal.

Is that a hard tail rear adjustable shock

I just put an aluminum sleeve over the shock to “hard tail” it.

where did u get that rear tyre? or how did u do it? we're new followers/fan of the metropolitan other than selling Chinese scooters that ain't worth modifying. We ordered twice n tried them out but not lucky. We're think of cutting the stock rim ( just for the sake of the spline) n welding it to another rim. Pls. let us know how. We just subscribed to ur Vlog to help us. Thanking u in advance & waiting to ur reply.

It’s a Douglas 10x5 and a GET hub. I have a Michelin Bopper tire on it and a Ruckus swing arm.

Doing it up right? The way the manufacturer made it is right. Taking it apart is dismantling it.

The way the manufacturer made it is "stock". There are MANY things that can be improved upon on a Met. If you upgrade a part such as the brakes or suspension, to me, that's doing it right. The Met in this video is a Metropolitan ll which are governed to a top speed of around 25mph. By de-restricting the intake and exhaust, adjusting the rollers in the CVT and a few other minor things you can almost double the top speed. Again, to me, that's doing it right. The list goes on, but I'm sure you get the point.

@@BluesCat1980 then you need to change some things. All I did to my Met (not this one, this one is in pieces again) is put a Polini variator with 5.6g rollers, deleted the air box and re-jetted the carb and I can hit 46-47 before I start bouncing off of the rev limiter. Once I put the NCY cdi on it and remove the limiter I’ll hit 50+.
