Michigan resident here. I used to live in a area where there was a decent sized population of Amish. A few things: I have seen them sneak and buy cell phones. My grandfather used to give them rides for long distances and he said they knew how to use a radio. They usually die young and lose fingers. also, while I agree on not wanting to live the Amish lifestyle the Amish people that he would do business with were LOADED. My grandfather would fix farm equipment for them and when they would go to pay they would usually have a huge wad of cash.

I was watching some of your backlog today, and had this one show up. Just so you know, Fanta, if someone else hasn't mentioned it, the word "Bubba" is a southern word, particularly in Texas and Louisiana, that's applied to a guy. It means brother or friend, depending on who you're using it for. Typically it's a nickname. I live in Utah now, but I lived in Texas as a kid, and sometimes I still call my brothers that. It could be that those names on the grandma's shirt are nicknames, but not all of them sound like it. Given names these days, it wouldn't be that surprising to me if they're not. I hear names like the last few names on that shirt, and I SMH and think"Do you parents WANT your child beat up on the playground?" It's ridiculous Just thought I'd let you know in case no one else has..

I've lived in Pennsylvania my whole life. If you see them in a store they are not Amish, they are Mennonite. This basically means that they are Amish but less strict.

In middle/highschool I got duplicate shirts to mess with people. "Like he's wearing the same shirt as yesterday, wait there's not the stain from yesterday." "Now the stain is back." "Now it is gone again." How did I not become a shitty prank youtuber? I have a walmart on the border between Missouri and Kansas and it has a much higher number of freaks. I saw a guy who legitimately looked 1/3 to 1/2 alligator once - probably had some chromosomal disorder. Why are walmarts usually on borders anyway? There is another between two cities and where I was born there was also one between two cities.

I don't know the statistics but the Amish don't live miserable lives from their perspective. They just live like that to avoid the problems of today's society. They're also Christian. Some of the stuff on People of Wal-Mart is funny but some of it isn't. It's obvious some of the people shown in some of their pictures suffer from a mental illness. And I must say that in the 5 years I worked for Wal-Mart, I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to people of all walks of life. Also, want to note that Wal-Mart was one of the worst jobs that I'd ever worked, and I've had a few shit jobs in my 44 years. Shitty management, shitty hours, shitty insurance benefits (unless you're a company suck ass and work your way into a full-time position or management team) favoritism among management and employees (what some can't get away with, others can ; see "suck ass" for reference. Smart ass customers etc etc. Don't get injured if you work for Wal-Mart or sick. The one I worked for wouldn't even accept a Dr's excuse no matter what the case was. Also seen them fire a guy who had a heart attack who got too many points because he missed. They told him to get his ass back to work or be let go. (Polite way of getting fired.) I'm sure you know this, being that you've worked or still work for Wal-Mart. They're a scumbag company.
