Seres is Velvet's sister, from what I understood is that Celica was sacrificed to bring Seres and bind her to Celica. Celica was pregnant with Laphicet but then that makes Laphicet a malak as well along side Seres

I think it's meant to imply the reincarnations actually are the originals. Melchior probably lied or misunderstood it himself.

Some malaks don't remember there past life, but SOME do such as Celica. They really don't get in details, which is pretty sad

Seres said she regained her memories sometime after Artorius sacrificed Laphicet. I think maybe the ritual might've cause her memories from her past life to return. But why her and not many other malak is not known.
