It's beyond insulting not only that Filoni had to steal the name from the basically the foundation of KOTOR and the Old Republic Era lore as a whole, but also twisted Dooku's backstory to his will. For years fans wanted to read a story about Dooku and Qui Gon going on missions, and then we get this, plus MORE Ahsoka fanservice and active retconning of previous Disney novels.

A show centered around the prequel era Jedi wouldn't be a bad idea if Filoni used an original name like "Jedi Chronicles" or something. But instead, not only did he overuse Ahsoka in the show, but he also ripped off the name from the 90s comic. It would be like having Knights of the Old Republic not being about Revan, Bastila Shan, Darth Malak, etc.

Here’s the big 4 with Star Wars these days. 1. Kathleen Kennedy: The head of Lucasfilm, the biggest contributor to wrecking Star Wars, and is extremely woke. 2. Pablo Hidalgo: Just a plain old lying douche. 3. Dave Filoni: The first one to retcon and obliterate continuity along with pretending to be a hardcore fan but is actually just a casual hack at best. He is also pretty woke too. 4. Jon Favreau: I don’t really know about him but I’ll say that it’s honestly embarrassing that the same guy who directed the first two Iron Man movies also created The Mandumblorian and The Bait of Bobby Fatt.

Showing count dooku delete kamino felt so unneeded. And it feels like filoni is trying to rewrite star wars to his own fanfictions. Like why is he exploring characters that aren't originally his. He needs to stop messing with George Lucas original characters.

Thank God 100% Star Wars wasn't the only one on social media who disliked the series and hated the use of the title. All I've seen on more general social media was "OMG it was so good and a masterpiece, more please!" However, would this series really be remembered in the long run if it wasn't for the controversy on reuse of the name... which I think the bigger Star Wars KZfaqrs have seemingly forgotten about. Also the only one I liked was The Sith Lord... and that was for all the wrong reasons (mainly because I found it funny which was definitely not intentional) due to loads of weird decisions: a) Yaddle got booted from the Council and killed off IMMEDIATELY after the events of TPM finished - or maybe even before depending on how the layout works in terms of timeframe - b) Yaddle being crushed by the door reminded me of Final Destination 2's dentist/"THE PIGEONS!" scene, and c) I was almost expecting Palpatine to do a quick "Unlimited POWER!" shot of Force Lightning while the Force theme was playing to yeet Yaddle into the depths of Coruscant.

This show should have been called “Star Wars: Trials of the Jedi” because both Ahsoka and Dooku face many trials of will. But this show doesn’t just step on Legends by usurping the original Tales of the Jedi. It also contradicts the novel Darth Plagueis so that it can’t be canon. But first, I want to give some notes on the show. (SPOILERS BELOW) Episode 1 is classic Filoni - beautiful world, beautiful music - 90% filler. There are like 2 plot points. Ahsoka is born. Then the tribe discovers she’s force sensitive when a tiger kidnaps her and brings her back unharmed. Then the episode is over. I thought we were going to see the story of how Master Plo Koon discovered Ahsoka and brought her to the Order. I thought maybe the tiger would kill her parents, and he takes her in because she is an orphan. But instead, Ahsoka has two loving parents who don’t want anything to happen to her and we’re actually left to ponder just why they’d give her up voluntarily. So in other words, Episode 1 creates a new minor plot hole in Ahsoka’s story. Episode 2 has an interesting premise - Dooku and Qui Gon investigate a kidnapping back when Qui Gon was Dooku’s apprentice. As interesting as it is to see this time period, Dooku as a Jedi, and the elements of darkness in him, the episode itself was somewhat childish in its social commentary about greedy rich people. A wealthy senator’s son is kidnapped by disenfranchised people. The son, however, rather than being spoiled, is quite noble and promises to help these people his father has neglected. It’s nice but the episode treats it as though poverty is as easy as flipping a switch and not a complex situation that requires shifting of laws and regulations. Also, when the Senator comes to claim his son, Dooku witholds the son from him, demanding answers to why the people are poor. I can forgive this because it’s Dooku but in general that’s not how Jedi are supposed to act. They’re supposed to end conflicts, not start them. Dooku should have returned the son, then demanded answers, and if the Senator refuses, then confront him. Episode 3 is similar. Dooku and Mace Windu go to planet “Raxus Secundus” to retreive the body of a murdered Jedi, but Dooku wants to investigate the murder itself. And of course, Dooku is very forceful and angry on behalf of the fallen Jedi. But then when the killer is exposed, he reveals his political views that the Republic is uncaring and the Jedi are puppets of the Senate. And this is presented as one of the things that inform Dooku’s separatist politics (Raxus is a nice touch, as we know that was their capital). But I find it interesting that one moment, Dooku was angry on behalf of his Jedi friend, then the next, he was sympathetic to her killer. Now this is where things get out of hand. Episode 4 is the big one that really annoyed me. It annoyed me because parts of it were so good they make things make more sense. The problem is Episode 4 contradicts so much. It begins during Phantom Menace. Qui Gon has just told the Jedi Council about his encounter with Darth Maul. Dooku meanwhile, is revealed to be already working for Sidious, and he erases Kamino from the archive. As great as it is to see that happen, this is in direct contradiction to Darth Plagueis. In Legends, it’s established that Dooku left the Jedi Order *because* Qui Gon died. Meaning he didn’t leave the order *until* he died. In the Epilogue of Darth Plagueis,right after the crisis on Naboo in Phantom Menace, there’s a scene where Dooku talks to Palpatine about the Republic - but Dooku isn’t Palpatine’s servant and doesn’t know he’s a Sith yet. But he is interested in the dark side. It’s literally the opposite of the show. In Darth Plagueis, Dooku says, “The Sith want to see the Republic brought down. Much as you and I do.” Palpatine feigns ignorance and says, “But to ally with a Sith…” Dooku says, “For many, they are the embodiment of pure evil, but the Council knows differently. What separates a Sith from a Jedi is the way each approaches the Force. The Jedi Order has placed limits on itself, but the Sith have never shied from incorporating the power of the dark side to accomplish their goals.” Palpatine says, “You wish to learn the secrets of the dark side?” Dooku says, “I confess that I do.” Palpatine doesn’t reveal himself then and there, but he does decide to recruit Dooku eventually as a placeholder until Anakin is old enough to recruit. But in Tales Episode 4, Dooku is already working for Sidious, and the day of Qui Gon’s funeral (before the funeral), he confronts Sidious in that abandoned factory place from Attack of the Clones (which is another contradiction; in Darth Plagueis, they met there for the first time in the above scene, whereas here, it’s clear they’re already familiar with this place). Dooku is upset that Maul killed Qui Gon, saying “You’ve gone too far.” This is where I’m conflicted, because I like this idea of Dooku coming to terms with and confronting Palpatine about Maul killing his former student. But the timeline is all wrong. He’s not supposed to be in league with Sidious yet. But then it gets even crazier. Master Yaddle follows Dooku to that meeting and confronts him, telling Dooku it’s not too late to turn back. Again, I’m conflicted becaue this could have been really meaningful if it wasn’t destroying canon. Of course, Dooku kills her instead of turning back to the light. But he’s conflicted before doing so, which is cool, but in Darth Plagueis he was much more cold and aloof - before he even joined Sidious. And the final contradiction - this is not how or when Master Yaddle died. She’s supposed to have died 6 years *after* Phantom Menace on a peacekeeping mission to the planet of Mawan. It feels almost like a middle finger to James Luceno. James Luceno did so much world building before Filoni was even working for Star Wars. Then Filoni comes in and just makes up a bunch of BS. But James Luceno graciously went out of his way to make sure the novel Darth Plagueis acknowledged Filoni Clone Wars canon. And now, Filoni has bulldozed over James Luceno’s work again. Obviously, Disney Canon is separate from Legends, but it’s still annoying when they make Legends impossible by contradicting it. Episode 5 was a yawn fest. Just Ahsoka training. The most interesting part was when it jumped ahead to the Clone Wars Finale, to a moment when her training came in handy. But there weren’t really even specific techniques that came back. It was more of a general thing. Episode 5 would have been way more interesting if Episode 6 brought back some specific thing Ahsoka learned. But that didn’t happen. Episode 6 was by far my favorite. It openes with Ahsoka going to Padme’s funeral on Naboo and meeting with Bail Organa, who gives her a comlink to contact him if she needs help. At first, she refuses Then, Ahsoka goes to a farm planet to lay low, but someone discovers she is a Jedi and calls an Inquisitor there, who burns the village. Ahsoka defeats him and uses her comlink to get help from Bail. This experience causes her to change her mind and inspires her to join the Rebellion, providing context for the origin of Fulcrum in Star Wars: Rebels. 4:13 Dave Filoni actually flat out said that Ahsoka wasn’t necessarily dead in Rise of Skywalker. 10:16 Also, I think the episodes were in the order we got because it’s roughly chronological. Also, Filoni didn’t write the last one. Lol, how telling is it that my favorite one is the one Fioni didn’t write?

I agree with your argument on Filoni's version of Tales of the Jedi. His version about Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano past were inconsistent and retconned from the original lore we already got from the books. Tales of the Jedi is a book series that shows events that lead to the Great Sith Wars and backstories of the characters who would be involved in the event.

I thought it was weird seeing dogs in this universe too. I liked the dooku episode but I didn't like that way they altered dookus backstory and saying he wasn't on the council. Also yeah dookus fall to the darkside was because of qui-gons death. Which was miles better. Saying he turned to the darkside before that doesn't make sence and makes dookus arc to much like anikans. His arc was way to much like anikans. I also hated yaddles out of place voice.

I haven’t watched this series, but disliked how it’s called Tale’s of the Jedi, instead of one of the title’s you came up with. Not only that, but the logo is exactly the same as the comic’s. I disliked that, either make an adapt of the old comic’s, or make a new title/logo. Also I’ve read the Tale’s of the Jedi (only have the Ulic & Nomi stories, read most of them) and liked them. They’re unique stories that’s interesting, and I like the character’s, even if they aren’t as fleshed out as I wished they were. If this series was an adapt, and had amazing writer’s, they could’ve expanded upon what made the series great and improve upon some flaw’s. But no, it’s just Ashoka & Dooku, Dooku I don’t mind,but from what I heard, it doesn’t sound that interesting so not worth watching for now, unless I changed my mind soon.

JJ, I understand your anger and I think you have good reasons to be angry. But you know, I realized it’s not worth it, it’s not worth getting angry. Disney, Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni don't deserve our anger, they don't deserve the expression of any emotion on our part, because they're nothing, and are worth nothing. Honestly, I started to practice emotional detachment towards Star Wars, because I realized that there's no hope, that everything is lost and that Disney doesn't deserve my attention, nor my anger. The only project I’m interested in is Andor, and once the series is over, then I really think I’ll completely lose interest in Disney Star Wars, forever. I just want to live in my little isolated bubble, it’s the only way to live quietly without getting angry.

On the topic of when Dooku served Sidious, by *movie* timeline, it had to be before _The Phantom Menace._ Sifo-Dyas was named as a member of the Jedi Council, but was not credited as appearing in Episode 1. That means that to masquerade as Sifo-Dyas, Dooku had to already have been working with Sidious. The real question is that if Dooku was still in the Jedi Order at that time, why did he never meet Obi-Wan.

A baby being able to do beast control in order to calm down something that's upsetting them, totally makes sense to me. Why is that well think about it from the perspective of a baby, your mind is open to everything, your perception is both placid and malleable, now throw in the fact that you can receive things and do things and nobody else can around you unless they are force sensitive. In the moment being able to see the mind of an animal and touch it and calm it down when it is upsetting you, you won't question what you're seeing you'll just react to it instinctively. It's even stated that some force abilities are instinctively tapped into a young age, so beast taming being something you can do as a baby only under certain circumstances if you're for sensitive is something I can totally see being a thing. Didn't Nomi Sunrider's own baby use beast taming on a group of animals instinctively? If so this is obviously a nod to that, but he should have just given us that. And honestly the scene with Ahsoka did not need to exist, we did not need baby Ahsoka before the time of the Jedi, we can get all of that in either backstories or explanations from Ahsoka where she came from before she became a Jedi. It would have been much more interesting to have Ahsoka go through her old village and have memories of times before her time is a Jedi but ultimately they're unreliable because their memories. That would have been informal interesting first episode there, and they could have taken it backwards as well throughout her life was with Dooku they're going forward showing three different periods in his life with Ahsoka they could go backwards by showing her reminiscing about periods of her past, thereby making it somewhat unreliable as a narration, and thereby you can justify any kind of thing you put in there because you can say it's not canon because it's unreliable. I don't know why Dave filoni didn't think of this it's obvious he doesn't have the intellectual fortitude to be able to come up with something like this.

I stopped consuming new canon after Fandolorian Season 2. Never bought any of the new book, but I did get some of the new comics that looked ok. Probably never going to invest as much time or money as I did with the old EU. Fuck Filoni’s Star Wars.
