Check out Tim Burgess's Twitter Listening Parties... he's the lead singer from The Charlatans. Over the past year and a half, he's been getting people from mostly 80s and 90s bands to tweet about their experiences while everyone who is tuning in listens to an album. No streaming - you just listen to the vinyl or CD or whatever that you own, or use your own streaming service to listen along. It's really amazing to realize some of the people following along have been listening to an album for 30 years, and for others, it's a first time. Awe-inspiring, really. Love your channel, and the way you connect with bands like Talk Talk and Genesis.

Some post Talk Talk suggestions - members of Talk Talk went on to make these: O'Rang-"Mind on Pleasure;" Catherine Wheel-"Heal," "Fripp," or "Eat My Dust...;" Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man-"Tom the Model" Maybe "make" is too strong, "were musicians on these" might be more fair.

Slightly, quietly , delicately, emotionally ironic that "It's Getting Late in the Evening" as I hear this....Time for bed soon. The best organ anti-solo since ooh i dunno, "Whodunnit", but there the similarities end. Both are fab mind u. I Can't See My Feelings, Justin. Nos Da.

I like what the organ is doing here. A lot. Really interesting stuff. I was wondering if you could get around to reviewing some stuff by Ultravox at some point. I can’t speak to song titles other than “Vienna“ which is an essential synthpop tune, and “Fear in the Western World.” But my friend who loves Talk Talk keeps telling me I should listen to more Ultravox stuff, apparently there’s untapped wealth there too.

Justin, I wonder if you're familiar with the '90s band Catherine Wheel, who had a couple of their albums produced by Tim Friese-Greene (Talk Talk). In particular, Catherine Wheel's album Adam and Eve (1997) seems heavily influenced by Spirit of Eden, with a little Pink Floyd thrown in. I think it's one of the more striking and overlooked albums in the post-grunge era. It seems to be absent from streaming services, unfortunately. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJiAaJRoyty2oXU.html (Also, I just noticed that another commenter mentioned CW's song "Heal," which references Hollis' line "Everybody needs someone to live by.")

@@Katehowe3010 I call 'em as I hear' em Christian - doesn't matter to me. If you don't hear it what can I say? As I am in my seventh decade my allegiances are only to what I like. BUT - it's only r/r and I know that many people like what I don't and vice versa - no biggie. I don't have a strong like/dislike about Talk Talk - and they have some nice textured sounds and the occasional good tune - so I don't disdain them - but to me it's inarguable to not hear RM in their sound - even if by accident - coincidence - happenstance - whatever - they come across as being in the same sonic territory as RM.
@vdggmouse9512

@@Katehowe3010 It's all good Christian - I just read the first two paragraphs of Talk Talk's wikipedia page - 'the two (Duran Duran, Talk Talk) shared a Roxy Music inspired direction.' And a little later in the article - 'produced by frequent Roxy Music collaborator Rhett Davies.' Well at least somebody else hears/acknowledges some sort of RM thing going on there. Hey - you probably know Talk Talk - I don't - but these few songs that JP has covered I immediately said to myself - 'self - there's a RM thing going on here.' I know wikipedia isn't the be all end all - but they do stand by my call.
