I think this is a brilliant signing and will affect Giant's draft significantly. I hope we can extend Dex and Leo. I don't see a lot of running up the gut by opposing teams with Leo, Dex, A'Shawn and "Nacho" plus now ever more apparent draft of CBs, LB or 2 and likely a safety.

Great addition as a run-stopper, but also that pressure up the middle may lead to sacks for himself or others. Kayvon is going to have to be careful not to let anybody around his edge. I did notice last year that happen occasionally. When he takes an inside move, QB can run around him. Most QB's can run nowadays. But Robinson can certainly help disrupt the pocket, and those pressures may lead to picks.

Bobby, i have a request. You seem to be a master of the more technical aspects of the game. Can you do a short video on some of the jargon used nowadays? A remedial tutorial for guys like me who didnt play college or even high school football? What is a 3-technique vs a 5-technique? Slot and edge are positions that didnt have those names years ago. They are fairly self-explanatory, but i saw somebody struggling to understand...is an edge a defensive end or an outside linebacker? Why is a slot cornerback usually a safety and not another CB? In 10 minutes or less, I'm confident you can explain the origin and evolution of these terms and help me be a more informed fan. Maybe its just me being stupid or dense 😂 help!

Firstly I would reccomend to look up an image of a football defensive line technique chart. Its simply where they line up in comparison to the offensive line and different places help with different angles in different responsibilities and are suited to different body types or skillsets better.

As far as edge I pretty much define it as someone who normally lines up on the "edge" which is pretty much just everything outside 5 tech and sometimes it would be considered a 5 on some play situations but not too often. 5 tech is kinda the line of demarcation between idl and edge and it's generally kind of it's own body type but that morphs into edge which is where there are multiple kinds of bodies that can win but is from 6 tech all the way to 9

I wouldnt necessarily call slot corners safeties normally. They're kind of their own thing but plenty of them are versatile enough to line up in a lot of places which is nice because they really have tons of responsibility in a defense. I mean you have important run fits, you may have to cover smaller receivers or bigger receivers or tight ends so different skillsets there and yeah whatever else is the bill. If you really wanna learn more about that kind of stuff you can find football information all over the internet but always take everything with a grain of salt because it's the internet

Is anyone else getting concerned with the ammount of injury prone guys the Giants are signing? They now have a ton of "of this guy is healthy and can stay on the field guys." I think thats ok for one or two but look how many players the Giants now have that you would describe that way.

Very few veterans of 5+ seasons didnt miss at least some time from injury. But that's why we needed depth. I feel much more confident in the D-line now. And DJ Davidson is back - really unknown how much he can contribute, but he seemed to be having a good camp until the injury. Now they can develop him at a controlled pace.

It's a 4mil base salary and 8 max, so cap hit isn't 8mil

He’s 28, missed the last 7 games of the season last year but started in the first 10. Not sure how bad the injury is
