Interview with Christian Slater, star of USA Network’s new original series Mr. Robot and show creator Sam Esmail at Google’s NYC office. Watch the Mr. Robot pilot HERE: • Video
MR. ROBOT is a psychological thriller that follows Elliot (Rami Malek, “The Pacific”), a young programmer, who works as a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, “The Adderall Diaries”) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the corporation he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world. The series also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”) and Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon”).
Moderated by Alan Seales.

The thing that I find most delightful is how they deal with the interview. They mock a lot (with google, with the subject, the movie, or as mentioned on other comments with their references) and it is yet so graceful, like when Slater said "he binged [over some term]". It's really enjoyable to see this lightness over the interview.

I really can feel how good and genuine Sam is like he’s such a kind person and just not at all arrogant or anything, especially answering the question about the matrix references he’s not even like offended he’s like “yea! I love that movie!” I love that he’s not all “oh no I’m a great writer who is the best” which he happens to actually be but he’s super humble like I love it and come on how many different ways can you say “screw the man?” Some things are just universal and you can’t talk about some subjects without using certain terms so

Slater did fine with the True Romance film, portraying the quintessential "brain hack." As long as we can all just agree that every little mu bit of our existence is constantly processing information, the absolute primary value of existence ( all spacetime relates to entropy, or Shannon Entropy values fitting upon an event horizon ), it should be well within our capability to soon have a universe with any brain contained in it... perhaps chemicals are just like little hardware interfaces that permit for up/download directly into firmware represented somewhere in our neurons. I have a feeling that the next few generations of computers will allow us to basically 3d print out the required interfaces to enable us to slap reprogrammed instructions into a the very substance of our existence. Anyhow, Ramy, Christian...you guys are awesome. The portrayal of the mindset is super double plus awesome

Sure on the more technical side of things, Christian Slater may have had no real basis to go off of in his career for doing this show, but what's at the heart of his character from "Pump Up The Volume" is pretty prevalent I feel in Elliot/Mr Robot. that's what I get for commenting at the start of the video. of course this would've come up naturally.

***** Well I'm not advocating a return to the gold standard if that's what you are driving at. In a basic level at least gold does have uses and is valuable to the construction of electrical equipment. The thing is with the non-gold standard is in theory it's a hell of a lot better than the gold standard because it allows for flexibility within the economy. Now I'm not an economist but it seems to me that that same flexibility combined with deregulation led to where we found ourselves in 2008

+StrixVaria Gold has some uses but most importantly it has held value for all of history. For whatever reason it maintains value in the free market whereas Fiat currencies, aka paper money, always become devalued because their only value is the authority of the government backing it. Money is whatever we are willing to accept as value for our goods or services, but to have a state currency that can be printed and given to major corporations as bailouts while at the same time devaluing the currency and essentially taxing people who save money in a bank is insane.
@rossmartin9054

Event Horizon Lol I think YOU are missing the point here. I don't have to clarify shit to you other than if you're going to try to turn someone's "shit talk" back on to them, you don't do it in a half-assed lazy-as-fuck copy-n-paste type fashion. Come up with your own shit talk. Alas, your search for truth in finding out what I meant by the term "bleh" in regards to the interviewer (which I now suspect you are the "bleh" in question, fishing for constructive criticism perhaps--which I will not provide, you suck) has found you empty, as you will from this day forth be held in perpetual ponder of the correlation between the vastness of the universe and the definition of the term "bleh", despite the context effectually taking a shit right on your face.

Event Horizon Your multi-tasking fucktardiness impresses me greatly. Do go on. Although, may I point out, that 10 other individuals (who have +1'd my op) did not feel that any other clarification was needed, as I assume that they are not so much baffled by the nuanced complexities of the context given. Are we really going to keep playing this game? You've bored me consistently since 3 comments ago. Now get back to making that minimum wage. (oh, I see you've discovered the 'edit' function. Hope you find it useful in perpetuating your image as a hard-working yet fully retarded assburger---and yes, that is how I'm going to spell that)
@Pinko_Band
@Pinko_Band 8 жыл бұрын
Event Horizon Dear lord, ok fine we can be friends. Just accept the fact that some comments are left intentionally vague--or "lazy" as you would call it, because there is a general connotation associated with it, in this case an obvious negative one. The mere fact that I used a spelled-out version of a sound utterance that, when verbalized, would normally provide an immediate conveyance of my opinion, rather than using an actual adjective or phrase, should reveal to you my intentional desire to not be specific about it. Asking someone to elaborate on an intentionally lazy comment is, for all intents and purposes, an oxymoron, in essence. It's like asking someone to elaborate on a fart they just farted.
@Pinko_Band
@Pinko_Band 8 жыл бұрын
Event Horizon Ok, now I believe you are having fun with me. I knew I would get you going with the oxymoron bit, but you make it too easy! However, if you reflect carefully on the statement I made in reference to being an oxymoron, I think that it makes adequate use of the definition of the term. The thing is, I don't like to spoon feed my criticism, but if you look carefully at my original comment (the one that got this whole thing going) then I think it perfectly reflects my opinion on the subject and to whom it specifically regards. The fact that you insist on continuing to prod at what I meant suggests that a) you just like to prod, or 2) you truly do not understand, and d) perhaps both. However, it is my job as a yootoob edumacator to guide the student (you) to come to his or her or its own conclusion on the matter. I will allow you three opportunities with which to make an educated guess as to what I meant, if anything, by using the term "bleh" in reference to this video. For each guess you shall provide at least 350 words to back up your hypothesis and present your findings in a precise, cohesive manner. Your grading scale will consist of "meh" to "bleh"--I don't think that needs further explanation. There is no time limit, however my interest does have a tendency to wane as time progresses, so be weary of that. You shall post your assignments here on this comment thread so as not to make things confusing for anyone else. I believe with luck and the grace of god you shall prevail in this task I have bestowed upon you. Ready?................ wait....... wait........... ok GO!!!
