Looks good. Great video. I like how you shorten the wires but I don't mind tie strap the extra up and out of the way. I like neat and tidy wires. I tried coiling them but on;y did that for a short period. My Top Force EVO should be here after the first of the year.

Thanks. Yeah, I do it a bunch of different ways usually depending on the car. I think as long as it's neat, it's all good. Coiling can look cool on some builds, I remember a lot of people were doing that in the 80's. Oh cool, it will be a happy new year for you! 😁👍

Thanks mate! Haha, good thing I don't show much of the shed in videos. Which reminds me, there's been no progress on the shed since the last update 7 months ago 😬. The carbon does look great. I thought of sanding it smoother and hitting it with 2k clear but maybe I'll save that for the next TF build. No probs at all mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it! G'day Mads! Glad you enjoyed it mate, 3 times lol. I went with the one-way as it's first runs will be in the backyard which will be a pretty tight track, so it may help on tight corners. The Hi-Cap shocks that come with it are quite decent shocks, but there is plenty of options out there. Will keep an eye out for your build! 👍

G'day Chris! All good here mate, hope you are doing well. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. I'm hoping to get it out for a run very soon! I have shown the soapy water method in a few build videos. That's pretty much how I always do it. I just use a few drops of dish washing liquid in a bowl of water. Some use a spray bottle but I don't see the point, just dip the decal in a bowl, too easy! I also use a heat gun on it's lowest setting to help the decals bend over curves and stuff, a hair dryer is also good. I may do a dedicated video soon, but until then you can see it in the video below. Hope it helps. Cheers mate! 👍 Skip to 2:20 in the video below. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdpnl5pk2s-YmWg.html

Great work Mick, this is one hell of a nice beast . These high end Tamiyas are really nice, I'm enjoying the kyosho beetle build and can't believe the quality. I should have bought one of these, saw it for $500 . That carbon fiber looks beautiful, wife bought a Tamiya semi . Should be a fun little thing and the 3 speed gearbox will be fun to. I notice the other comments ask for your tips on wiring and things . That would be great, every thing I learn from you always helps. Don't want to break your balls but liquid mask would be great to see, need to fix my sand scorcher body I stuffed up. You got me addicted now I can't stop ha,ha, have a good weekend mate and thanks for showing us this incredible beast.
@RCHobbyShed
@RCHobbyShed 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! They are a great looking buggy. Oh yeah, the Beetle is a great build and you can just feel the quality during the build. The semi will keep your wife busy for a while, they look awesome when built. I have a King Hauler and trailer I still haven't got to building yet. I'm hoping to get a wiring video done in the next week or so, I'm waiting on more plugs to arrive which should be here this coming week. Liquid mask is really only good for Polycarbonate bodies, probably not good for the Sand Scorcher. I tried it once over paint and it didn't go well. I think for scuffs and stuff on hard bodies, it might be better to use an airbrush (so you can get in close) with TS paint in it and kind of feather the area out with paint, then maybe polish when dry. That said I will do a liquid mask video at some stage, it's just that I'm out of practice since I haven't painted for a while with all these pre-painted bodies! 🙄 Haha, well you're addicted to a good thing, enjoy mate! Have a great weekend too mate! 👍

I grabbed mine from RCmart since my local hobby shops never seem to stock them. To be honest, I've not run a Tamiya brushless motor yet. I have two, this one (15.5t) and a 10.5t but this is the first one I've installed. From what I've seen I think they're on par with most other sensored motors. I'll run this one very soon so will have a better idea of how it performs. Cheers Brian! 👍

@@RCHobbyShed Thank you so much mate.One question for ya...what "Rubber Cement" did you use on the assembly of the diff parts,the first step in the build?I have a hard time deciding what would be best.I do reckon there is a reason for Tamiya suggesting Rubber cement(and not regular super glue) ,,as they do not want the glue/cement to harden ,and crack inside the gearbox when using the car.Which is why i do thing they want somewhat of a flexible glue when doing the ball diffs.Cheers,Stefan

@@TheCarTakerGarage No probs mate! I just used a little bit of thread lock. My car won't get a real lot of use though, so it should be fine. I've heard some people use Shoe Goo or E-6000 which will still be soft when cured. 👍

Which servo did you go with there? Does it have to be a low-profile. I had a couple servos kicking around, and looking at it without bolting anything in, it looks like a normal sized servo is too large for this chassis.
@RCHobbyShed
@RCHobbyShed 2 жыл бұрын
I used a Savox SC-1251MG low profile servo @5:25 @6:20 you can see there's not much room, so it's best to use a low profile servo. You could mount the ESC on the top plate, basically in the cockpit, then you could use a standard servo. 👍
@knappRC
@knappRC 2 жыл бұрын
@@RCHobbyShed Thanks for the reply. Something seems off. I tried a standard DS 25KG servo, and then a Futaba S148 as well, but with the standard servo horn on, if I try to mount using the holes in the chassis, the horn is pressed against the frame mounts in the front.

G'day Alfred! You need "rubber cement" for the diff outdrives. Some people use CA glue or even Shoe Goo. I just used thread lock. It's just so the outdrives don't slip out a little and ruin the splines. You don't need a low profile servo, you can use a standard size if you wish. 👍

@@RCHobbyShed This might be the first R/C car by Tamiya where you need some glue for the outdrives. It is even more interesting that Tamiya did not include it in the kit. Tamiya usually includes all of the fluids that you need to build their kits. It is not a big deal. Thoughts?

A neighbour stole my parcel (long story) but Amazon wouldn’t refund me and in the end shut my account because I asked them to call the police on me as by what they were accusing me of was trying to fraud them. 3 months later they wouldn’t involve the police but finally refunded me.
