Seeing these Frog videos is making feel really nostalgic! I love the skeleton style chassis so much.

My first RC was the Frog back in the mid 80s, fond memories spending all our time in Beatties model shop, that's in great condition, the alloy plate and underside of the battery tray on mine were almost wore through lol That gear that was gunked up was probably where the other gear wasn't touching and was old congealed grease, And I think the Tamiya thread lock from back then was like a blue glue, it did smell great

I had a frog back in ‘86 and I put Lancia rally wide wheels on it . It had a Le Mans 480T motor too. It was painted the same as the box art too. What a beautiful beast it was

I also had this car back in the 80’s it was my first real r/c vehicle. Very nostalgic to see it again. I remember it having two heavy duty wire antennas on either side of the chassis that acted as a roll bar of sorts to protect the body in the event of a roll over. Great video 👍🏼

Great project car. I remember as a kid always tearing down the gear box. I ran my Brat all the time cause it had the posi gear. I just built a rerelease Monster Beetle and put a MIP ball diff in it. I'm just gonna run it in the basement. I had tons of old screws and nuts when I restored tons of cars in the early 2000's. I replated all in gold, silver and black. Still have tons for projects. Love this old stuff.

I still have one. bought new in 1988. Works perfect still.

Beautiful job on the chassis Glenn, never gets old working on the ORV chassis for me. Always brings me back to my first RC the Blackfoot.

Brought back a lot of memories, mostly of repairing those !?@&#?@!? things...Awe, the good old days!

Yet another trip down memory lane. My first real rc model, since sold, re bought, turned into a truck, very few original parts left, but fun memories.

You don't have to pull an upright to fix your steering drag link. Just pull the screw from the servo saver, and use a screwdriver to pop the ball link off the steering knuckle (either one), and you will be able to manipulate either steering drag link bar off, turn it one half to reinstall on the desired side, and re-secure the ball joint, and put the servo saver screw back in.

Nice vintage frog, good to see a frog in great condition. Tamiya upgraded the gearbox quite a bit on the re-release, so no hex drive, Dog bones do help and I didn't notice the plate that meshes with the gearbox, in the re-release, but I could be wrong, as I've only built one of these myself a few years back. And yeah it's a headache of a gearbox to put together. Gravity Just holds everything in place Just before you screw everything down. Oh and mine did come with bearings for the gearbox but none for the car. And I also subbed. You're channel is very interesting and you have a good collection of tamiya. :)
