FYI - When asking jeweler to size your finger, be sure to ask for the wide band size (opposed to thinner women’s ring size). One of my fingers is the same with both, but one is a full size up using wider ring band. The difference largely has to do with knuckle size.

Great information. Thank you. I was about to order a second set of Tangem cards, but I may just wait on the ring to be released. I just want a hardware wallet that I can carry with me at all times. I don't plan on ever keeping a large dollar value of crypto on it, but having something small and not noticeable as a crypto wallet is always good.

Even tho i understand why they made the ring harder to read for security, it kinda defeats the purpose IMO. Most people want the right for the convenience of not having to pull the card out every time or risk loosing it. But if you have to take the ring off 90% of the time. You might as well use the card. Either way I’m still getting it. lol

The ring is not supposed to be used while on your finger according to an interview with a Tangem official I watched recently. It's a security feature. So if it works off your finger - it's a security problem with this particular batch. You have to take it off for it to work.

@@Lelerium It's not always about being cool 😁 This comes from Tangem themselves but off the top of my bead I can find a couple of reasons why. 1) Accidental scans. Since the ring is always on your finger and your phone is almost always in your hands, we should avoid accidental scans 2) Since the ring is in your hand and not in your pocket, nothing stops anyone scanning it while you are asleep on a plane for instance. 3) The antenna is most likely circular going along the circumference of the ring. You'd need to put it flat on the phone sensor to avoid scan errors. In my personal opinion, the ring should be completely deactivated while on your finger by a sensor or something. So when you are wearing it, it's just a ring.

You don't really want it accidentally scanning when you are reviewing your transactions just because your finger is near your phone. Needing to take it off is a very smart move. @@Lelerium

Air gapped doesn’t necessarily mean more secure. The most common scam in crypto is a phishing scam. Which air gapped devices are still susceptible to.

I trust both. And they are top wallets in my book. Something to consider: Aside from actually security features (which Keystone has a ton of) User friendliness is equally as important when it comes to security. Understanding what you’re using is crucial. Otherwise you can easily make a mistake and mess up.

You’re probably thinking of Tangem Pay, which is a completely separate product in partnership with Visa.

I am more inquisitive about the material they use. is it ceramics which can easily break into pieces when it falls or drops? would be better if it is metal ring to avoid easy breakages

Not by chasing all these fake pump and dumps which are launched over and over again by the same scammers. I can’t help you have conviction or patience. But I do recommend you find something you can apply both to, and you’ll be much happier and less worried. Also, don’t invest more than you’re willing to lose.

Why would you want to wear your cold storage wallet everywhere you go all the time. I don't hang my tangem card around my neck. Seems like a dumb idea

Then it’s probably not for you. That said, you don’t have to use a cold wallet only for storage. You can have multiple wallets. And use one (like the ring) to trade more securely.

@@HardFork_Crypto there will be specific instructions to simply measure your ring size on the website (you can use a ruler) at home. But you’re probably right, I bet people will order the wrong size often due to simply not measuring

Rulers/measuring tapes aren’t always accurate b/c they are flexible whereas rings are not. Plus, you need to make sure the size accommodates the diameter of your knuckle.

If I ever buy crytpo and go to a crytpo conference, I will now be less likely to be a target of kidnapping and robbery. Note I have never seen any person wear a plane black ring. Kinda want to go to a crytpo conference now and see who the really "security conscience" people are.. If you buy one of these, please consider painting it or make some kind of skin for it. Not anti-theft advice! Talk to your local influencer for anti-theft advice.

I shall provide you with a use case that I would consider after being critical of these being used on your fingers. When the smaller versions come out, you could use one of these on your toe as a toe ring. Airport security would never ask you to take your socks off so you could easily travel around with crypto on you, and no one would ever know. You are welcome!

Hey no, not true. Keystone and onekey use 3 different types of security but they are all 1000% open source

They use secure element chips yes, but Keystone does not use EAL certified chips (there’s a difference). And the old Onekey didn’t either. Which allowed them to be 100% open source. But now the classic 1S for example uses an EAL certified chip so that part of the code is not open source. I’ve mentioned this in multiple videos that you’ve likely watched. Surprised you missed that part…

The ring is a bad idea, it will make it easier for predators/ robbers to target you. A guy with serious holdings would avoid like the plague , enraging any robbers more. Putting the ring in an old box of junk is a strength

It's a ring no one would know It's a crypto wallet unless you told them So being a target for criminals is not an issue This is a very convenient daily Use wallet You shouldn't put your life savings on it That should be in another wallet that is locked up in a safe that you don't carry on you every day anyway
