Tank Series - Par results for the Reefbrite XHO Lighting

Take a lookie here at what par we're getting with just 4 48" XHO reefbrites. This testing method definitely is not lab grade, but it will give us a great idea of what we're looking at with this particular setup, and I'm pretty happy with it!

Need to test these over a deeper tank. Being a shallow tank it’ll be good PAR number readings.

With all due respect, title is about par readings. You rambled about other things for over 3 and a half minutes before the lights. Didn't even check PARS until almost 6 minutes. I'd also rather see where you actually have the eye in the water and you read the numbers off the monitor to us. Or even an over all picture with the numbers wrote in.

You've probably mentioned before but what's the water depth (top of water to sand)? Seems like a rather shallow aquarium. Plenty of par for that depth but seems like it might be a bit underpowered for a typical 24" deep SPS aquarium (but one would have to test it).

What color reefbrites are you using, and are those xho?

Yep, these are all XHO units. I don't remember know which exactly I had, but I think 2 or 3 100% blues, and then the others were the white.

Yes, if you like keeping it for looks but don't have enough nutrients to feed it, you'll need supplements. But also, if you don't have enough nutrients for it, you may as well just remove it because your tank doesn't need it. All personal preference.
