Freya such an amazing character. Her trance staying up in the air and throwing down spears always been incredible to me. Loved seeing that one solo Freya Ozma video, with what must've been 50 Spirit Trance Freya--I wonder if that technically counts as her multi-attack damage-cap breaking attack--though Vivi Dbl Blk and Eiko Dbl Wht and Dagger passive intermittent summons when tranced also can be argued to break damage cap... Always loved the Dragoons and the rat people culture of Burmecia and all the architecture and sculpture they got there and all, and the whole environment. Love Freya's costume (though red and having similar personality to Quistis, but loved Quistis). (I'm sorry, but when Zidane and Freya meet in the bar, did they imply that they--er?-spent the night?) 8:14 Flintstones sound effect got me. I love Freya Holy Lance and Holy atk boosting item (like mythril helm). But Kain's lance, gotta go with the ff4 reference! Necron, I love making him skip Grand Cross by jumping and he has no one to Blue Shockwave.

Speedrunners have a trick with Necron where they time Freya's jumps to skip neutron ring and grand cross.

I was kind of expecting you to mention Freya's potentially strongest attack, Dragon's Crest. It gets stronger based on how many dragons you've killed in the playthrough, so I remember getting it to the point of always hitting the damage cap. I do understand your choice not to use it though, since it takes a while to farm dragons.

However, am I crazy or is there not a (somewhat) simple manip you can do with Necron using Freya's Jump to avoid the Grand Cross turns, meaning you should only get Blue Shockwave, which can't kill you? Might have made that last fight a bit easier but seems like you got through easily enough without. Great stuff :)

Yo, this was a sick run! Congrats! Just a heads up for Trance Kuja in future runs, Flare Star's damage is FIXED and ignores Magic Def, and is equal to the character's level x 35 (I think?) in Memoria, so getting more HP was definitely the right move there!

I've played ff9 like 10 times in my life and I never knew or experienced the Phoenix pinion effect! I always wondered why they were in the game besides as another version of a Phoenix down! Probably never got the Phoenix revive from always using them when I had them in my inventory 😂
