French women are very aware of how the slight imperfection (teeth with space, odd eyebrows etc) can enhance a woman's beauty making her unique. Zen gardens are another good example (and Zen design in general). I'm so grateful for this principle since none of my DIYs come out perfect!

I study Daoism via Skype and taped broadcast from a Daoist teacher in the Wudang mountains. In a recent online live broadcast during studying the Dao De Jing, he stated Lao Tzu favors the yin. Thank you for this broadcast! ❤💯

Your interpretation of chapter 45 and applying its wisdom to the present day problems like political correctness was masterful. Going to different places and involving yourself in life is profound wisdom.

3:37 @JasonGregoryAuthor ; I think what Gayoung is trying to explain is the contrast of perfection and imperfection is a perfection in it self.

Jason, Gayoung said this so beautifully. "When you actually trust intelligence [nature] you will be able to discover things you didn't even know about yourself, like almost some secret ability will just come to the surface like magic. That's what happens when you go into the wilderness [and you have no idea where you are going]." - Gayoung Gregory

As a visual and performing artist, the chapter is essential for me to help to not cling or control the process of art and to just let it flow naturally. We should never know where art has to take us.

Thankyou for the interesting discussion. The notion of the useless being useful is (as he does) one aspect of Lao Tzu's philosophy that Zhuangzi develops more fully. Such as the giant tree that cannot be used for anything which is the reason it has grown to such a great height! It recurs again and again in The Zhuangzi, including in relation to the social sphere, and notions of status.

Hey Jason. I love your works, and I've been studying western religions as well, but I see so many contradictions regarding their very yang-based views. I would love to interview you sometime about this, and if not, may I ask a simple question: Can I make short 1 minute videos based on these episodes? Ill give credit of course too. I find them profoundly important for humanity, you are so on point!

Ai right now is a little boring in its creativity mainly I believe because it is in its infancy. Midjourney in just the last year has made remarkable improvements which I am really enjoying as I can tell you are. However, you do have to be a little careful with it as I have noticed that Midjourney art if used out of the box. All the images tend to have similar lighting and shading making the art look like it was created in it. With the right prompts, it is a surprisingly good tool. I used to be an oil painter and I still have some paintings I want to do in the future but using Ai as a tool like oil paint. Where I direct it, I have found it creates remarkable things with me that just by myself I wouldn't have been able to come to. Also, the ability to produce many images quickly and brainstorm from each image. To create something entirely new. Branching from each image to the next in a new creative direction is so fun. I see a lot of people really fighting Ai saying it has no soul to its creativity. That they prefer non Ai art. As non Ai art still has numinous qualities or another way it could be said. Be representations of the Tao but I just see this as people fighting change. They have almost a filter over their eyes from seeing the beauty that is being created.
