It's not two systems that humans take a pick ...sorry ... it's a lot more complex where one is a subset of a larger cycle.. there is more than 2

⚠WARNING - This is nonsense and dangerous confusion⚠: Seeing mind and consciousness as anything but emergent properties of matter is just a subtle tricky way to sneak duality back into people's minds and introduce fragmentation usable for future manipulation attempts. If you start thinking this way you'll just end up with a "fake void" inside you that invites to be filled by... god knows what. There's many things wrong with uncontextualized consumerism and materialism of course, but this is not the right perspective to approach such issues in order to arrive at ways for fixing them. And it's also a very subtle perversion of the original hindu philosophy of non-duality. It forces you to either see matter and mind as separate, or to see "mind and consciousness" as the origin of everything including matter/energy/etc - but this is a dark trick because you're no longer referring to "mind" and "consciousness" as in "HUMAN mind and consciousness", but to something else entirely that most listeners are not familiar with. It's a twisting of words designed to sow confusion and undermine people's conception in even nastier ways than pathological addictive consumerism can - at least that's an obvious misthinking and misperception that people have a chance of correcting, but going deeper down this path will lead many to places from which no exist can be see.

This is interesting for me as a transgender Buddhist/follower of the Tao. Transitioning isn’t inherently delusional. If your house is burning down you don’t stay put because that’s what you’d naturally be doing. You get out and then build a new house. Transitioning is the same. They are many ways that transgender people can fall into delusions because gender is empty but I think if someone transitions with care they can avoid that. I see myself as a man of transgender experience. Clinging to the label of transgender after you have successfully transitioned is attachment. I can also see how transitioning is inherently confrontational. You are “imposing” your new identity on to people. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be this way. When I transitioned I introduced myself to new people as a man but for people who weren’t close to me but still knew me pre-transition I said nothing. They naturally came to me and asked me what was going on over time. This method was way more natural. But my method isn’t very practical for a lot of people who are suffering because it is a slow method. Ultimately I think all people should drop attachments to any identities and the over identification of people in the lgbt community isn’t healthy. I’d like to have conversations about how trans people fit into the Tao if anyone is interested.

I couldn’t agree more Jason. What a strange time to have come to this world, I don’t know what my previous incarnations did to land me in the middle of the Kali Yuga but I’m glad my presence might shine like a beacon of light in the fog, and cut through the materially driven foibles of human nature. Grateful for all, compassion for all, but not without discretion. May we find inner peace sooner than we expect, as that is the catalyst that begins our outer healing. 🙏🏼

As a scientific socialist, I term this the dark night of the soul or the last stage of capitalism where widespread strife and suffering will be the order of the day, all sacred cows will be destroyed, from god to family and only money will determine relationships. Strife will exist at every level from inter personal to inter group and the rich will rule the earth like gods.

Hi Jason, I have to agree with the other commentor for this video that other Guru's including Sadhguru have said that we are at the final pahses of ending the Kali yuga cycle and will be going into the Tetra Yuga from 2082 onwards.
@JasonGregoryAuthor
@JasonGregoryAuthor 10 сағат бұрын
That is incorrect and completely made up. Please read my pinned comment. It isn't hard to study the Yugas, but you have to do the work and read the Puranas, where the Yugas came from. Hindus get very frustrated when people in India and outside make up there own version of the Yugas. Again, it isn't hard to read the Puranas to learn from the great sage Vyasa.

A few famous gurus are giving this radically different estimation on the yugas, saying we are almost out of Kali Yuga; because it creates controversy and gets them attention, and it's what some people want to hear so it gets them followers who will be loyal and donate if they get the answers they want. Most gurus, and devout Hindus who study this stuff, have told me we are about 1/3 of the way into Kali Yuga and have a few thousand years to go and things will get worse than people can even imagine right now. But they also explain that this is ok, because everything is always in balance. The outer world may be going to hell, but our practice will be more rewarded if we take the time to meditate, do yoga, or do selfless service. Lives are shorter and more brutal, but there also more exciting and with more possibilities for all the extremes. We shouldn't worry about what yuga we are in if we are focused on the inward journey toward enlightenment, but use what's said about it in the ancient texts as a tool for navigating it and finding equanimity in the face of good times and bad.

NOTE: There are two systems of the Yugas: the original and traditional long-count system attributed to the Puranas authored by the great sage Vyasa, and the short-count system from Sri Yukteswar. These are the only two systems. The traditional system from the Puranas is the authority over the Yugas, which is where the concept came from in the first place. This concept would not have been known if not for Vyasa. For some reason in the modern day, people on social media and self-proclaimed gurus want to make up their own version of the Yugas or claim that the scriptures were wrong, as if they are greater than Vyasa. To learn from the Yugas, you need to accept the Puranas as they are and not change them to suit yourself. It is really strange when people want to make up their own interpretation. If you don't believe we are in the Kali Yuga, then why is there exponential growth in depression, mental health, psychotic episodes, and suicide, just to name a few things? Those facts speak to the fact that we are only on a steep decline. Another fact to consider is that life in the Satya Yuga (the golden age) is simple, people don't have a lot of material possessions, there is a deep collective sense of unity consciousness over and above individual subjective consciousness, and the majority are centered on God consciousness, which governs the world. We are definitely not in any other Yuga than the Kali Yuga according to the traditional system, as is evidenced by the growth in consumerism and hyper-individualism. So for those in the comments eager to make up their own version of the Yugas or parrot a self-claimed gurus version of the Yugas, please watch my entire documentary of the Yugas so that you can learn about these two systems and then decide which one you believe we are in. I've heard arguments that our modern understanding of the measurement used to count these things was too long so other things didnt fit the scale of time atributed to them....not to say that we arnt on kali yuga right now, but maybe that these periods are just shorter, i wish i could remember exactly where i saw It, but i think they where discussing fomenko's cronology as well, although thats a different topic. After all how much longer can this go for if are at the brink of becoming robots? Wich for me means just death rather than inmortality 😅

Correct. However, if everyone realizes this, there would be no samsara (life on earth), no progress of any kind, and there would be no purpose for humans to be on earth. Ego and self identification is the reason there is a jiva and the cycle of birth and death continues because of that. Collective human consciousness keeps rising through our churning over many births.

I whole-heartedly disagree with a statement that goes "who can say what is right or wrong" or "what was wrong 10 years ago is now right". This might as well be called learned ignorance. We have a very clear understanding of what is right and what is wrong. We were simply trained to ignore this understanding to some degree in modern society because our society is built on wrong. You are allowed to do what ever you want, as long as you do not steal away from others. Whether it is freedom or property. That includes that we do not harm others in body or mind. We are not allowed to take away (conceal) insight or truth from others. Simply put, do not steal. One person's freedom ends where another's freedom begins. For overlap there is cooperation. If we commit wrong, we shall receive wrong. Simple as that. Whether we judge right or wrong as good or bad has nothing to do with the simple universal set of rules. In order to transcend good or evil (right and wrong), I believe, it is first necessary to understand right from wrong and good from evil. Transcendence is not equal to ignorance. In my opinion, the live we experience reflects the sum of rights and wrongs we committed throughout our existence.

This really isn't about meditation. Once self is established, all acts are known to be meaningless. It's not that meditation is shameful. It's that all acts of Karma are known to be pointless to the jivanmukti. Meditation was just Dattatreya's pointer to the realization that there is no meditator or meditation or even thought. There is no dream for the dreamer, just a wild, unreal experience. Avadhuta Gita is a great book, not a dangerous one. But to comprehend it, you must be qualified. Shankara clearly defined what four key aspects are necessary to be a qualified student. If you aren't qualified, this Gita will appear to be nonsense or gibberish. I admit I don't really care for your video title here. Calling this book dangerous is just fear-mongering or saliciously enticing. Calling meditation shameful is completely missing the context. Approach these teachings fearlessly! Have faith that there are important knowledge in them. When questions or emotions arise, consult your Guru! A guide will help tremendously here. Be bold! Find out what is holding you back, what qualifications you are lacking, and pursue them with passion! Be not afraid.

Everything in mind is learnt. Learning is the essential nature of mind. Good & evil are merely judgements of discriminating mind. Realizing Constancy results from returning to the source in stillness. Learning & Realizing Constancy is the Way of Nature. Constancy is seeing equality, which is Compassion.

A big part of the problem is Takers who are are self-focused and only help others strategically, when the benefits to themselves outweigh the personal costs. In the words of Adam Grant: “Takers have a distinctive signature: they like to get more than they give. They tilt reciprocity in their own favor, putting their own interests ahead of others' needs.”

Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: Evil is nothing more than IGNORANCE. Period. Goodness (GOD-ness) is natural and is all that is Real, but we have fallen into forgetfulness and ignorance. Advaita Vedanta is the same path that Yeshua One with Christ teaches, Truth be known, but organization completely corrupted Christianity with Paul's false "gospel" of JUDGMENT and SACRIFICE FOR "SIN." And I was sent as GOD's prophet and witness to "set the record straight" and help pave the way for the "Second Coming" of Christ: the awakening of the awareness of the Christ - the Spirit of GOD - that is within absolutely each and every person, which is all that is real...but is masked by the ignorant EGO, which is called the devil and satan. Want to know how we fell into ignorance? All mysteries have been unveiled and published in these "end times": the end of the old Cycle of Time that the New Cycle may be born. And if you seek you will find.
