What's going on everybody?!?! It's quite a long time since I've done a recorded video, but what I have for you today is I'm finally giving the Taom Fusion Tip a try. I'll be putting on my Predator Ikon4-5, which has the factory Predator Victory Soft tip on it, and let's how the Taom Fusion Tip compares to it. Also, in conjunction with trying out the tip I'll be trying for the first time the Taom V10 Chalk!

I moved to a Taom fusion tip around November last year and after getting used to it I don't see myself using anything else. I now have the Taom fusion tip on my gen1 OB1, Franco Custom Kielwood and my custom Cabron Fiber shafts. I was a moori soft player for over a decade then decided to switch it up and don't regret it at all. I also use the V10 chalk and it truly is one of if not the best chalk out there.

Have you tried the zan hybrid max? It's a similar concept but I'm curious how they compare. The zan is good and used by a lot of top players on tour. I found it to be good but didn't love it.

@@donkeydiehard879 I have very limited experience with it and I will say they play VERY similar. If I would have to say anything I would say the Zan leans more to the soft side where as the fusion is more towards the medium side.

Love the chalk. My concerns with all tips is the consistency from new to worn down. Many tips have a tendency to change as it gets worn down.

@@chefarj with the chalk, absolutely wonderful. It doesn’t leave any marks on the cue ball, and I always feel like I have a good control of my stroke. With the new tip, however, I put it on a new cuetec avid 11.75 shaft that I have yet to start using.

I recently purchased the V-10 and like it a lot. If you do a drill with cue object balls in the same spot there is a slight marking but nothing like less expensive chalks and it brushes out easily. More importantly, it covers and stays on the tip much longer, especially my break cue. Have you found any differences between the pyro and v10?

Chris, question: You compare the Fusion tip to the Predator Victory Soft. The look of the Victory Soft removed indicates it had been on the shaft for some time. My experience is that soft tips harden significantly with use. Are you really comparing the Fusion tip to a "soft" tip? I use a Kamui Original Soft. And while I wish it would play like a soft tip forever, I find that I am playing with a hard tip after about a month. Please share your thoughts. Thanks!
@LilChrisPoolPlayer
@LilChrisPoolPlayer Жыл бұрын
I've only had my Predator Ikon4-5 for about 6 months and I would consider that to be long enough for the tip to harden like you're describing. You can see in this video, where I changed the tip on my Predator Blak4-5 to a HOW soft ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f8CSnK6Sr8rZqZc.html ), that the original Victory Soft was about 2 years old.

The more I've been using the Taom Fusion on my JFlowers cues, the more I've been liking it. I don't really have a comparison to say which one is "better". I've shot with all the ones you're asking about and I haven't hand any complaints with any of them.

@LilChrisPoolPlayer
@LilChrisPoolPlayer Жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues with the Pyro or V10 themselves leaving a mess on my table. If you're worried about chalk marks on your table, I would be more concerned of the tip of your cue dragging along the felt when you hit low on the cue ball.

@@LilChrisPoolPlayer Appreciate your response, Chris. I only had issues with chalk marks from Kamui chalk, mostly when I shot a power draw shot. However, I hadn’t considered my stroke as being why I sometimes leave chalk marks. Something to work on, I suppose. I think I'm going to try out taoms v10 chalk based on your and others' recommendations. Thank you for your response.

I only ever really noticed chalk marks from Pyro on miscues and some break shots really. In the last month or so of playing with v10, I’m not really sure I can ever really remember any significant chalk marks at all for whatever that’s worth-but it kind of feels like you’re basically be going from 9/10 clean with the Pyro to 9.2/10 with v10. It’s kind of hard to say it’s much of an improvement, but it’s also not like there’s any real difference in price. Cost me the same $19 either way.

It hits harder compare to Kamui Medium Clear black or Kamui Clear Medium brown. Taom fusion is harder in middle of the tip, Grip like Medium and Control like soft tip. That why they named it Fusion.

Nice out. It will be interesting to see how much if any the tip changes with reps. I have been using V10 chalk for about 6 months, averaging around 1/2 hour per day, and it does not show any visible signs it's been used. I can chalk up once per rack without increased incidences of miscuing, although I do look at the tip often to see if it needs refreshing. Polishing the balls can be done much more infrequently, and yes, the cue ball stays incredibly clean. I also need to clean the table cloth much more infrequently. So for me, it's win-win-win-win, and considering how long I anticipate this chalk will last, cost isn't a concern. When I play league and use house chalk, I have to remember to chalk up every shot, so I have added to my PSR at least looking at the chalk every shot when playing with V10 so I don't forget it when I'm not using it.
