That if I had found rec room sooner, my social anxiety wouldn’t be as bad because I actually learned how to socialize and gained some social experience that I’d never gotten before, so now I’ve been able to talk to 2 people irl without having a panic attack lol

i just started playing rec room a few weeks ago. i have really bad social anxiety. so far ive not been able to say anything in voice chat. even typing is scary for me. i had like 3 panic attacks in a row while trying to talk to someone.. it makes me sad that i cant make friends as easily as others.. but i will keep trying!

Those friends u meet ARE real friends and usually more accessible. Met most of my friends in MMOs in the 2000’s. I even met my rl husband in a game. Been married 10 yrs now. He became a firefighter n we have 2 kids hahah Did a search to see what Rec room was abt for my 12 yr old. Can’t seem to find one directed at the parents as far as keeping ur kids safe n all… BUT this was a good intro at least and ur voice is so charming/calming 💛 👍

My tips for keeping kids safe on rec room - Check in with them often, put them on a junior account if they're under 13 (it's the rules, they can't talk to other people though), have a chat with them about street smarts (basically same as anywhere on the internet. Don't trust people, don't let people ask you for personal information, etc) It's a great game and the bad people are few and far between, but one must be aware that like anywhere on the internet, sketchy people do exist unfortunately. Thanks for your comment! Maybe I will come out with a video like that in the future! :)

Things I wish I knew BEFORE starting Rec Room, building relationships, having a best friend, make your own game, do not go to PVP's, toxic as a snake, feeling like you're in the environment, create memories from the past. Bottom line, I love Rec Room, I play it everyday, and I can thank my brother for giving me this game. 5:35 hahahahaha my new head! I have social anxiety, and I am a shy person as well, so it's not just you. Rec Room has changed my life of gaming. I had no friends at all before joining Rec Room, now I have a best friend, gained more subscribers on my channel and more followers on my Instagram.

Definitely wish i'd favorited people from the beginning, now some great friends may be buried in my list and it's way too long to sort through at this point! Also agree about the 'shy' thing, get out there, say hi, ignore the toxic ones and have some fun! I actually love playing the quest games a lot, but I still get into other rooms from time to time.

paintball is the absolute WORST for me because i move around the map actually getting kills instead of camping with the sniper (in team battle ofc) and people get mad because they're bad at close range with a sniper and dont keep their pistol, which you need to do if you're using a sniper as a primary like me

I would love to spend alot more time in rec room but i dont have a vr headset. Trting to have conversations and funny moments with random people without vr is a bit hard at least in my experience, ive been binge watching your videos so i can imagine what itll be like once i save up for a headset even thought that wont happen soon. I was in a game and this girl went omg everyone sucks ,she was literally the only one shooting team mates,not reviving, and walking in the firing lines of team mates .After she left we did better ,even with 5 year olds.

Well, isnt that a good thing? A skilled guy is helping you and is probably good at it. Sure, you won't get as high of a rank if you don't step up your game, and you might run into a few of his arrows, but you don't lose points for that, he does, so it's no big deal. Otherwise, just go solo or with people you know.

The thing I wish I new was to be careful hoo you became friends with cause I made friends with people that were cool at first but then like a couple months later they became toxic and Brott down some stress in my life and now I wish I was never friends with them ever before.I blocked them and unfriended them. So if your ever in that sich trust me you will feel better unfriending them. Ps another tip that will save your life is to keep as much stress out of your life as possible trust me it helps a lot

I hate people who scream and yell. (I'm not one of those people, rather the complete opposite.) Well most, as long as I meet them in a quiet space or a calmer space, I may become friends with them. I'm one of those guys who has social interaction problems or has trouble meeting new people.

Same here. I rarely make friends in laser tag, etc. If I meet someone in a quest, it's easier for me to speak. Big groups, no way! But I am better than I used to be. I think the game really does help improve social skills!
