I love a lot of the conversation here. As a Data Analyst for a public agency, I have to be very careful with the statistics that get disseminated out. Not only because of the accuracy of them, but because of how others might interpret them or even how well those who will be presenting the statistics understand how they came to be. Getting the average person to understand complex analytics is very difficult sometimes, especially when the information is charged with emotion. Great podcast!
@whitewolf9660

This. As another person who works with data, the average person has limited understanding of "data" and statistics. It's not as simple or safe as "Give me a spreadsheet". People use data for their own gain and you have no idea how someone might use a simple spreadsheet.

That is because Veritas is doing way more in depth analysis. Usually veritas is putting hours and hours into statistics, but since he is known in the community his video would not have blown so much...Goat was not known and many streamers tried to shame him or accuse him of not enough data (which gave him more attention), some praised him and there is where it all started with the controversy.......with Veritas most likely people would have just agreed with (because of the perfect statistics) and moved on without so much controversy.

He has been trying to walk back what he said on his original VOD ever since it really blew up. I assume he thought this would just blow over like past cheater videos have and none of this would matter. His off the cuff reaction to the cheating issue, the video itself, and G0at is telling what he really feels about this issue, and no amount of backtracking, 27 pages of cope/justification, or "I just wanted to do it myself" justifies what he originally said. Now he is pulling the "it's just my opinion guys, geez" shit. The funniest part is him saying he had his mind changed and how open minded he is to things... says the guy who will every stream I've seen go into massive diatribes any time anyone tries to discuss something he has made his mind up on. Jesse seems like he is FAR more willing to see alternative views on subjects and even say if he was wrong. Also he is willing to say he doesn't know everything, unlike others....

Dude I get how Veritas is going crazy. the guy who is watching you know his dream being performed by someone else on top of that it’s not to his own standards. At the same time he’s aware that his standard is not achievable as a one many army and would require a team with 6 months of data at the least but even then all information is subject to change in Tarkov. The community or a vocal part of it are shitting on streamers including landmark for having their opinion on g0at’s KZfaq video. Members of the community are being shitting on for skepticism and cynicism. People don’t need to be sympathetic but they can surely be empathetic especially when we get long detailed answers here rather than a toneless short tweet. He definitely let’s commenters like this, these negative Nancy’s of the community get to him but what he had to say was completely understandable if you’re capable of having healthy compromises in relationships friend or girlfriends. Idk to me it just seems like lots of tarkov people need to vent their emotion caused by the game and many of which are valid reasons.

Just letting everyone know, on g0at's original video someone left a comment saying that a russian content creator did a similar video around january. Their name is "Red from Tarkov". He got 2 strikes on his channel from this and a bunch of threats from community managers and indirectly from BSG. So, just like it was said many times, we got luck as a community that thanks to all of the circumstances, this video got so much attention.

BSG and parts of the community have knocked down any real talk of cheating for some time. Luckily this time it got through. On the recent WAN show they said it best, anti-cheat isn't sexy but has to be done... and BSG finally got the kick in the ass for how bad it is on their watch.

One issue I've had with this game for a while is the matching and loading times. It's seriously demotivating on top of the game being harsh as it is, to have a significant percentage of a play session stolen by waiting times. No matter the drive its installed on. I've also spoken with alot of friendly people in game this wipe and it's crazy how many people just cant run streets. So many people are just stuck this wipe because streets is unplayable to so many. I myself can barely get by on streets, but this is much more of a problem for me and people I've spoke to than any cheater.

Look at an Indie game, nearly any good Indie game. Take Project Zomboid for example. Check out their weekly or monthly updates on game development progress. They are in depth and very honest and open. BSG needs more of that. Somebody should be documenting and reporting to the community weekly/monthly. It doesn't even have to be a patch with it. a patch would be nice as well, of course.

Even Star Citizen, for all the problems that exist with that development, have some sort of update billboard and regular reports on what they are doing and where they want to go. Project Zomboid and Dyson Sphere Program, and UBOAT are all goo examples recently of keeping players informed on what is happening and where to go. BSG is this black hole that seems to get its kicks from making players guess what changes happened, and not wiling to discuss why systems are the way they are even if they are horrible. Hell do we even know what is next for the game? Open world? Another map? Or will they just say "fuck it" and dump out the game as 1.0?

So, I was quite protective of g0at and his video against some content creators. I probably unsubscribed from a bunch (and still wont resub). I was never insulting to any of them tho. Anyways, as g0at seems to be cool with most them, so I shall shut my mouth for now.

Varitas was 100% more then "I don't like this song but it is OK you do" in his original VOD, and was actively arguing with people in his chat when they tried to discuss it or defend it in any way. He hated the video, hated that someone else did it first, and hated that people found it useful and good and was more then willing to say they were wrong and idiots (as he always does with his chat). It feels like gaslighting at this point with the revisionism.

Per what Goat is trying to say. They need better screeners. A screener is a method that has high sensitivity for identifying potential cheaters, but generally low specificity. It helps isolate who you need to investigate and who you do not need to investigate so you can focus on specific populations. Once you screen them and they meet criteria for the streamers, then you can look for evidence foe cheating, if positive then you can take the appropriate action. We use that in the health care field all the time to identify who is at risk for certain illnesses and then run specific tests on those people. That way you don't spend energy, money, and avoid doing unnecessary testing on people with low risk..

On the topic of the location locks on accounts idk if this changed but I got my standard account off CDkeys cause it was 5 dollars cheaper back when lighthouse first released, I live in Michigan, US. After falling in love with this game I decided to upgrade to EOD and went through hell to do it because my key was appharently from EU so I ended up paying a lot more for the upgrade after conversion rates. But now It says I have a “world” copy of the the game and can pretty much play on any server I want, but I mostly play NA central unless I need to do tasks during our daytime hours then I go EU west. I have good ping on my local servers, bad on EU.

To be fair, when they showed us those drugs with the D.A.R.E program, it made me want to do drugs when they said "this one makes you see sounds and hear colors" and I was amazed that something like that was possible and wanted to take some, I still havn't and doubt I will but it always seems like it'd be quite the trip.

When I first heard about radar, my first thought was "man I really wish someone who is using this stuff will use it to make heat maps of player movement and item spawn stats" and no one has ever done it as far as I am aware.

First time I watched the pogcast. Just because g0at was in it and I like to know more from other streamers. It´s a miracle that still so few other streamers give an actual opinion on the cheater problem and what they want to do about it now. Veritas just talking about that he knows all about it and planned a vid like that - but it´s amazing how he didn´t said anything about his cheater knowledge. And his bla bla about "I tried to get an explicit answer about the real data".. only excuses. And Jesse had sadly no input about this cheater topic. Gongrats to g0at - I also knew about the cheater plague, but not how hard the problem really is. And what g0at showed in The Video was all everybody has to know about it just to get how bad it is.

i do not cheat, have done a bit over 200 pmc raids 68% survival 6+k/d lvl 41 i only play duo, never solo, and i only go into raid for a quest, i basically dont really do loot runs, also have gotten lucky with some annoying kill quests i dont take fights usually, after years of playing i still feel my stomach sinking even if i die with a kit i dont/shouldnt care about i am well aware of my stats being abnormally high for low amount of raids, if i ever start doing more lighthouse/streets/labs quests im sure the stats will drop like a rock for more insight i have only completed 1 boss quest - tagilla i dont play much due to work anymore, but i have the knowledge and a friend to breeze through some quests with the whole recent public fiasko, ill probably play a lot less, me and friend have felt the playerbase (legit one at least) drop with time to find server, more weird deaths than before etc

The only place I've gotten extract camped this wipe is Customs actually lol. You're right in that maps with a bunch of extracts have less issue, but if you spawn on big red side and have to extract boiler side, you only have one guaranteed/non-key extract, so that one still gets camped. They should probably add another one on that side to balance the spawns a bit better.

Just so everyone is aware, they teach the basics of computer architecture, which includes kernel level, in year 1 or 2 of computer science in computer organization course. Kernel level programming is taught in year 3 and 4, and for some specializations, they are mandatory for graduation.

Same, I have never cheated in an online game but it was crazy to see how much of an advantage, and easy to hide, something like ESP was... and how one could start to see the pattern of other cheaters in raids. With all the audio bugs, lighting/shadow bugs, and dsync issues playing the game as an average person without cheats makes us seem like the fools in the game.

The fact that they are planning to take action against singleplayer tarkov (SPT) while this is going on is hard to believe, since some people just want to avoid the chance that a cheater ruins their run.

I think the low K/D is from newer players who really don't know what they are doing and don't survive much. People who have been playing a long time can push through scavs, and tend to be doing more missions that require more kills too (hell I just did a 25 survive streets weekly, and I expect I was killing 5 to 8 scavs every raid). The new players I have seen go from zero experience through a wipe have a lot of trouble getting kills, and getting through the missions.
