Most Disappointing game - Oddworld Soulstorm (too many bugs, put my playthrough on hold half way through.) Best Movie - Last Night in Soho Most Disappointing Movie - Monster Hunter. Technically 2020 but it's late enough I'll count it. Best album - Diablo Swing Orchestra: Swagger and Stroll down the rabbit hole. Worst Album - I don't know... I wouldn't listen to an entire album I thought was bad. Favorite Creator - Ryan Hollinger probably. Favorite pineapple on pizza - pineapple.

I feel one of the great compliments creators like us can get when we do a Top 10 is a comment saying "I've never even HEARD of that game until now, but it looks awesome!" and I feel you did a good job capturing that feeling with this countdown.

Thanks for the Kowloon recommendation, that one flew under my radar big time. Mashing up genres with a dungeon crawler totally appeals to me and I was super stoked to be able to grab a physical copy for $40.

The only youtuber I know of that included FuGa in their list. Pretty based. I'm glad the game is getting a trilogy despite its sales performance. Truly a passion project

You should try giving Ys and ys9 a shot. Playing those is an addiction and I feel have mastered the action combat genre without complicating it too much. It was a breath of fresh air when i started the ys games after playing tales of arise.

Damn bro, you really missed out skipping the Nioh games. They are absolutely incredible, equal parts action and RPG. Similar to Monster Hunter, every weapon is an almost entirely different playstyle. I genuinely can't recommend them highly enough. Consider revisiting them; they're some of the most intense and enjoyable action RPGs I've ever played.

Tark, I don't think you have covered it on your channel, but you should take a look at The Cruel King & the Great Hero. It's being published by NIS America and is releasing at the beginning of next month. I just came across it last week when perusing NISA's site. I'm not suggesting a video on it or anything, but it looks charming as hell and I thought it might be a more niche game you might enjoy in your free time.

I played Kena but I found it quite shallow to be honest. It was still fun, it reminded me of older simple games from the PS2 era and it was very pretty.....also Idk if it's just me but it got brutally hard in some places.

Fuga looks interesting, but I still can't bring myself to spend £30+ on a digital only game. Hopefully it will do better once the sales kick in.

I am missing a couple of games but being a top 10 "choisir, c'est renoncer". Let's name NieR Replicant, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Life is Strange: True Colors, Ys IX or The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki among the games deserving at least an honorable mention whilst Cris Tales and Astria Ascending will become hidden gems :). Conversely, to me, SMT V and Tales of Arise have been huge deceptions.

Beating up bratty kids seems like it would fulfil the appropriate power fantasy, lol. I’m a bit burnt out on RGG’s games, so I put off playing Judgment 2, even though I enjoyed the first one. I remember Metroid Dread being deemed really hard when it released, but when I played it I didn’t find it that hard at all. A few bosses were tough but it spawns you immediately before them anyway, so you don’t have to repeat any content besides the boss itself. It was probably my favourite game released in 2021 but I haven’t played many others. Most games I play now tend to be older ones.

SMTV Is really great. Exact opposite of Tales of Arise for me. Unlike Arise, STMV starts kind of slow but ends fantastically with some great art direction. Really enjoyed the last 30 or so hours. The game is balanced really well on hard; but will likely take 50-70 hours to complete so I can understand why many wouldn't get to the fantastic ending.

It's always too long between Tark videos, whether it be a day between or many moons between. Discovery channel needs to get rid of Shark Week and give us Tark Week.

"I just couldn't get into SMT" Me but with the Persona games

I thought Tales of Arise would have been higher, but I did think the second half story dragged on and is probably what hit it's ranking. I might have preferred just doing the 5 realms, ending at Volhran, and saving the Lenegas & Rena stuff as either DLC or a sequel. And I thought how they handled Rena at the end was stupid.

RPGs is my favorite genre, it's refreshing to see a top 10 best list without RE Village, Halo infinity or any other shitty FPS games

SMTV should click with you if you liked persona 5, it's about the same, but a little worse.
