1:10 - Bonus footage showing the evolution of this strat. Clips with Blood Hawk are rough proof of concept demos, while clips with the Custom Machine are obsoleted TAS WIPs.
It's possible to skip the loops in real-time but I don't see a version of this strat being used in an actual run anytime soon. The reason I think this is not because of the skip itself, but because you're forced to perform a DTD-Z after skipping the loops instead of a DTD-R like usual. It's difficult to concisely explain why this matters, but in short, this change makes it so much harder to perform the rest of the strategy (specifically, the non-AGG DTA during the final hairpin corner) that I don't think this strategy is human viable. Dan and/or WMJ are welcome to prove me wrong ;D
Note that changing the machine's roll from right to left while floating in the middle of the loops (shown at 2:01) is only barely possible in a TAS; if you do this in real-time, it's an instant death regardless of your XYZ position (don't ask me why), so you have to roll at least slightly to the left prior to that point and stay there in order to skip that part successfully.
I found (what I believe is) one of the most optimal strats while playing with a controller at 12% speed, then I optimised all of the movements using BizHawk's TAStudio.
