I agree. I don't have any vegan friends. Well, one of my old college roommate is vegan but we never hung out in person. Also some of my old co-workers were vegan or just dairy and gluten free but we never hung out outside of work.

For anyone who is afraid of the smoky flavor of the mozzarella, Myokos makes a non-smoked/original one as well. And I actually see it more than the smoked one in my local grocery stores. It’s a favorite vegan cheese of mine.

This was great! It'd be cool to compare the same styles to each other. I'd also like to see everyone tasting it together. Probably hard logistically, but I just love the feel of seeing all of you around the table like the chicken taste test.

Like the style of the review. I love Chao on my toast - more than any other vegan cheese it slightly melts on toast (fresh out of toaster, no other heating, just put the cheese on) just like real cheese does. Always brings back memories of my mom - it was one of her fast breakfasts to give us kids toast with cheese and a slice of tomato on it for breakfast so was nice to discover a fantastic substitute.

Well the algorithm got me here and I definitely subscribed. Great format. My sis buys vegan cheeses so I linked it to her; I personally don't crave meat and cheese etc. but recipes from my youth … I keep a journal of what vegan version works best in those cases. Oddly, the one thing that I miss is plain yoghurt/feta cheese. I made my own cashew yoghurt with a probiotic capsule etc see MictheVegan … used Instant Pot; no it's not yoghurt but seriously yummy ... I make a lot of spicy curries and also Greek stuff so this turns into an ok cooling agent/raita or tzatziki. If anyone is interested, get This Cheese is Nuts, Julia P -- sorry not to hand easy to find. She is the QUEEN of vegan cheeses you will never buy these substitutes again in my opinion. Love this channel!!!! Tx guys.

Your friends are hilarious. It's great to get multiple opinions. I had Toffutti once and threw out most of the package. I had a bit of it and couldn't eat the rest of it.

Love this video!! I love seeing all your friends together. And Doug and Kirsten! 😍 For the cream cheese I feel like for the price factor I’m a tofutti lady - it’s delish, OG and cheaper than the others. If you did want shreds out of the bag try Good Planet and Violife! I actually think they’re good uncooked but I don’t like any others uncooked. If you ever need an extra hit me up... I’ve tried way too much vegan food 😂

My favorite vegan cheese is Chao Creamy Original. In my opinion when the cheese is melted it taste like Alfredo sauce. I have also had the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese from the brand Diaya and I really liked them. Even though they didn't melt very well when I cooked certain things. But the Diaya shredded cheddar cheese melted really nicely on a grilled cheese sandwich. I am planning to get the Diaya cheddar cheese slices when I make vegan turkey sandwiches next week when I travel. Also the Diaya plain cream cheese is so good. I have had the American Tofutti cheese slices before I switched to Chao. The Tofutti cheese slices in my opinion were very thin, oily and they didn’t stick to veggie burger they (the cheese) just became greasy and didn’t stick. I haven't been able to find any other vegan cheese to try out.

Violife feta is my absolute favorite. Taste and texture is more goat cheese like. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried it yet.

I love the Violife. I use the parm in my homemade mashed potatoes. I veganified an Alton Brown's recipe at Thanksgiving and have made it countless times since. A huge hit.

Try Violife Mature Cheddar Follow your Heart American Trader Joe's cream cheese The Miyokos mozz that ISN'T smoke The Chao Cayenne Tomato one Also: I LOVED all your guest judges! And can you do one on vegan butters? My fave is the Can't believe it's vegan butter. But I can only find it at Walmart lol

Recently I tried a vegan halloumi cheese mostly out of sheer curiosity bc it had such a specific texture, and it was one of the nastiest things. It was so salty and grainy, and the ingredient list covered the entire back of the package.

That vomit smell of parmesan is from the free fatty acids that made up the milk fat. Butyric acid specifically has that "baby spit-up" piquant flavor. Really notable in aged provolone (not young provolone) and asiago.

We have a brand local to us in canda. The brand is called spread'em. They do cashew based dips/spreads. I got the garlic spread'em. Tastes just like my favourite cream cheese. Has enough tang to win me over.

Hi, new to your channel and enjoying it. Tried vegan about 20 years ago and it was SOOOOO difficult that I went back to eating a bit of flesh until The Game Changers gave some usable info for plant-based meals. Nowadays, plant-based is not so difficult. I will clarify that I am not vegan; I do a 99% plant based diet. I still include eggs (for baking) and gelatin marshmallows (for rice krispie treats). You introduced me to a couple of previously unknown cheeze options. For your taste test, I really enjoyed that you had the skeptic omnivore and a vegetarian on your panel. ALL of your reviewers were awesome. I smiled and laughed through the entire video. Thank you so much for your videos!

I love when you do taste tests! The fact that your friends come out and there’s a variety of vegans vegetarian and Omnivore is really great. I have to say I always look to Chris the omnivore for approval lol and when he gave the chao cheese a 5 that made my day ! Some of my favorite cheeses were tasted in this video and chao cheese is one of my top favorites as well as the vegan mozz O M G so amazing I have to try the smoke flavor. Aldi's has a vegan cream cheese called Earth Grown, although they stopped selling it my local store. It was SO good and so affordable, at less then $3 for a container.
