Goan Vonn / Soji is a traditional Goan sweet dish prepared during special occasions, festivals & pre-wedding lunches. It's made with tasty & healthy ingredients like coconut milk, rice flour, coconut jaggery, chana dal, cashew nuts & cardamom powder. Ingredients:
Chana Dal / Split Bengal Gram - 150 gms
Water - 3 cups / 750 ml
Salt - ½ tsp
Freshly grated Coconut - 2 cups
Water - 1 ½ cups / 375 ml
Thick Coconut Milk - 1 ½ cups / 375 ml
Water - 2 ½ cups / 625 ml
Thin Coconut Milk - 2 ½ cups / 625 ml
Coconut Jaggery - 200 gms
( Sugarcane Jaggery can also be used )
Goan Rice Flour - 4 tbsp
( Any Parboiled Rice Flour can also be used )
Cashew Nuts - 15
Salt - 1 pinch
Green Cardamom / Elaichi powder - ½ tsp
Notes: If Fresh Coconut is not available, canned Coconut Milk can be used
Vonn can be served hot or cold
If it is not to be consumed on the same day, then let it cool down, before storing it in the refrigerator

I accidentally happened to come across your channel. I am a thorough Goan but I have yet to learn a lot of Goan cuisine. Like the vorne.
