@@Fouloulle no, it's her one of the most confessional and matured lyrically. Just because she sings about her personal life doesn't mean she's not grow up as an artist and ttpd is not about her love life, it's about HER LIFE. TTPD talks about her heartbreak from her past relationships, her career, her frustrations to her fans and to her self. I respect your opinion and I get it it's not her best album but you're so wrong on so many ways when you could've said you don't like the album. This album is not for everyone.

@@jiruld Goodness, I listened to it, I know it's her life, still it's VERY immature ! Her life is one of a 30 something years old, it doesn't sound like it ! Songs like "All too well" has mature lyrics even now, even though she wrote it when she was young! "Our song", "White horse", are cute songs but very well written especially that she did them when she was VERY young! The new ones are just a collection of stupid metaphors that over all sound very dull and stupid! I d'ont want to read her diary where she cries over every single man she met and thought she was gonna marry ! It's stupid, non creative, dull... so yeah I guess it's not for everybody if you want to, I still find it immature. I'm a 30 plus woman. I can't listen to champagne problems (the song is cool though)

I've tried to like Taylor Swift. There are some old songs I like, but there is something about her that won't let me be a real fan. I can't put my finger on it as to why, but I know at some point, whatever it is, will come to light. Maybe it's the way she handles criticism. Taylor: profits off of making songs she knows people know are about specific people, some resulting in death threats, doxxing and harassment. Some contain details about THEIR personal lives and character, some bordering on defamation. Deliberately cultivates a culture of speculation about IRL events for marketing and fanbase purposes. Makes most of her relationships, like Travis Kelce, very public. Weaponizes lyrics against people she thinks wronged her. Taylor when asked to answer for dating the problematic Matty Healy and turning a blind eye to his blatant disturbing behaviour: "You aren't allowed to speculate about my personal life, that's creepy and judgemental!" But I agree, it feels less like vulnerability and more like oversharing. By now she KNOWS her fanbase sends threats to the people in her songs, but continues to pump out said songs without even telling her fans to cool the bad behaviour. Feels like weaponization. She's fanning the flames. I try to believe victimized women about their struggles, but she's the victim in EVERY circumstance. "I can't date a racist, it's not fair!" is almost as rich as she is.

taylor swift has the same amount of contol over her fans as any other artist. maybe even less because there is so many. she is not responsible for what her fans say, its not like shes explicitly telling people to come after the people that have hurt her, infact she does quite the oppisite. she is a SONGWRITER. she is going to write about things that have hurt her. and things that have not. i also write my own songs and for many people including taylor, it is a form of therapy and a way to process emotions. it is not up to her how people revice these songs and it never will be. yes dating matty healy was not the smartesrt but often love is not simple. she is out of that relationship now and every body makes mistakes.

An ex Swiftie here, loved the video babe. I have been a swiftie since 2011 and that slowly came to a screeching halt recently. Our Taylor, I believe is a manipulator as in SHE IS ALWAYS AND ALWAYS THE VICTIM IN EVERY SITUATION. She can't just move on. She has to send her swiftie mob via her songs to dox and harass people who've wronged her. Suing a kid for tracking her flight pattern was so low and dragging Kim's kid now to get a reaction out of her is downright evil and so very feminist of her and brand of women supporting other women. How would she have felt if her child was dragged in for a f*cking drama that happened a decade ago, like move on, get a life. When something affects her directly then she will chew them down send her mob dogs their way then why oh why in Miss Americana she said she'll be more vocal and what not and be on the right side of history, where is that spirit when its the case of g*nocide in gaza? Our queen Taylor is a selective activist and a f*cking hypocrite. She's vindictive and calculative as in the song Mastermind. She's a businesswoman first and artist second like was ripping Olivia Rodrigo that necessary where Cruel Summer(one of my favs) doesn't even sound like Deja Vu(another of my favs) like you want to copyright yelling in songs? Then touring with Sabrina Carpenter(whom Olivia had beef with but I love Sabrina nonetheless) and Paramore (who didn't even wanted to take revenue of Good for You from Olivia) I always wondered why Taylor was friends with Selena Gomez who is also ALWAYS A VICTIM and can't move on from Justin and sends her seleanators Hailey's way to harass her five years after Hailey and Justin got married like beech act your age, you are so problematic always bringing up Justin and Selena drama to sell your songs where Justin can sell Yummy🤷🏻‍♀️ and no drama is required. I have been fed the Taylor drama and Selena drama all my life and I want to move on. I will keep listening to my favs from both of these artists for the sense of nostalgia but that's it I've enough of their punching other people down.

I generally love Taylor Swift's music. Spotify says I'm in the top 1% of listeners if that says anything. I don't care about her relationships until the men involved in them become characters in her songs. This album makes me feel like I've failed because I can't relate to or understand these songs from her perspective at all. I suppose I didn't do the homework but when did it become expected to study before a T.S. album releases? Most of the songs on the album are vicious and hateful. Breakup songs aren't necessarily fun to listen to, but this album absolutely drops my mood. I haven't even been able to get through it yet. And you're right, I've kept tuning out halfway into each song because they're so boring. I don't know how she managed to write lyrics that are so "personal" yet make it sound so uninteresting. It's impressive. You put my half-formed thoughts into words and it's helped me understand why this album rubbed me the wrong way. Thanks for that. I wish Swifties didn't worship her so much and were willing to listen to criticism people have about her because a lot of it is valid. It's important not to worship people, even if we like their art sometimes, because everyone has flaws.

I'm also someone who is in the top 1% and listened to all her songs BUT is not a Swiftie. Taylor has always written about her exes. Even as a casual fan I've been able to decipher who each song is about. However, in TTPD she makes soo obvious it's about Matty Healy that I cannot separate him from the song at all. The last thing I want to do is think about Matty Healy. Whether it's his favourite song or his Jehovah's witness suit etc. It makes this album not enjoyable for me. Also the whole time I kept thinking why is she still chasing after the 'bad boy' at 35. It reads like a 19 year old who's in love for the first time. Another issue is there's not much poetry in an album called TTPD. The lyrics are just too on the nose. As opposed to 'Getaway Car' or 'Your Losing Me' which have great metaphors. These are my favourite lyrics from the TTPD album because I love the metaphor: So I leap from the gallows and I levitate down your street Crash the party like a record scratch as I scream "Who's afraid of little old me?" The problem is that those who criticise Taylor Swift pick a few of her songs while not acknowledging the many brilliant ones. It is easy to criticise something you do not understand than it is to learn to understand it. It is a reaction parallel to "fear of the unknown". Once the unknown is known the fear diminishes.

So, swiftie here, went to reputation stadium tour , been a fan since RED. I agree with most things said in this video. Even tho i consider TTPD a personal favorite, just bc she projects in her songs how raw and rough is the depression she is facing. And since im experiencing same feelings rn cause of mental illness , i have someone to relate to. Ofc, I also acknowledge that she is a millionaire . She does the “pointing a finger” shit that look so immature in my opinion. I think TTPD was meant to be a reuse of old sounds . She is touring right now and the theme of the tour is all her eras. It is clever of her to make an album that sounds like reputation, midnights and folklore , while touring and performing her whole catalogue of music. I do believe that the whole Kim Kardashian feud has been brought up too many times . She revives it every two years but I think she really was traumatized multiple times by her and her ex husband that she means it . She says “your words still ringing in my head” , i feel like she is being honest. I personally like TTPD. I wont go out of my way ofc to defend her to anyone . I dont need to defend any billionaire. Im just enjoying music. Maybe i have weird taste . But yeah pretty good video here

Born in 1944. I dislike all the jealous negativity whoever it is about. You lot have a third of your countrymen believing conspiracy theories and the Donald Trump is innocent. Where do you think this hatred and stupidity starts? Kids like aIMee love causing pain for the sake of it. You are entitled to dislike songs and singers but stop stating opinions as FACTS. From a Brit point of view it appears that too many Americans believe the FIRST thing they are told and are unable to change that opinion. That is not healthy and is effin lazy. If Donald Trump was wrongly attacked I would defend him. But he has not been so I won't. I do, however, sympathise with him over his incontinence problems. I have similar. It is an AGE thing and largely beyond his control. By the way, when you get to my age you will realise not just Trump and Biden nod off and forget words. I pointed out that Taylor helps people with her millions because that is a fact, not an opinion. She is not obliged to do that. Do you really think that a 79 year old cannot like Taylor Swift and her music? I also like artists from my early teens (Buddy Holly) and Twenties (ABBA) so that should give you some idea of my age and appreciation of GOOD music😊 Edit: why would a grown man make money on the internet by accusing someone of hypocrisy? Okay, let me put what I am thinking this way: criticism around this album often revolves around the complexity of her metaphors and the extensive context needed to fully grasp her lyrics… however, this is not unique to her work, if you are into poetry you would know that it's a hallmark of poetry, contextual references are celebrated and necessary and create layered meanings. Just as poetry invites readers to delve deeper and uncover hidden nuances, ttpd challenges listeners to engage more profoundly. And all of this coming from someone who has not only been in the spotlight since a kid but also loves making music (also directs her videos and writes poetry) certainly makes sense for this kind of investment in their artistic craft. Also, Swift is changing the mold of traditional pop music by infusing it with a poetic depth, which normally doesn’t work or doesn’t even happen at this level of popularity and in the pop genre. So that is also understandable that why she would receive so much hate when people don’t want her to do this, but focus on writing catchy music. While it's understandable that this might not resonate with everyone, dismissing her work because it isn't immediately accessible undermines her artistic value and innovation she brings to the genre. I would get it if it’s objectively bad stuff, but I think a lot of her criticism derives from misunderstanding, devaluing her worth, or dismissing her because she is Taylor Swift. I think just as we don't dismiss poetry for its complexity, we should appreciate Taylor’s efforts here. The amount hate is so un guaranteed. She has every right to pour her heart out to her craft, as all poets do. On top of all of this, people are trying to understand what a person with fame like that is going through is also insane to me. People are way too judgmental. Like half the music industry uses ghost writers and writes about sex and drugs, no one bats an eye- but this is where they draw the line? there’s just so much to say lol Maybe I should make a counter argument video to this 😂

this comment is very pretentious, insulting and condescending. i love how swifties act like anybody who criticizes taylor’s work just isn’t into poetry and doesn’t understand her literary genius. i love poetic works and i can confirm that the points in this video are valid. you’re attacking critiques that were never made here. nobody is criticizing taylor’s work cause it’s too complex, if that was the case then artists even more poetic than taylor like kendrick lamar and bob dylan wouldn’t have their acclaim. we aren’t criticizing TTPD cause the poetry is way too advanced for us, we’re criticizing it cause the poetry in question is just bad. the album is a constant audible struggle between the poetic masterpiece it is intended to be and taylor pandering to white millennial women who love cats. and if “half the music industry”’s writing about sex and drugs doesn’t have people harassed the way taylor’s whole ex thing does (even when she CONSTANTLY admits to being the problem), i’d say go for it! and don’t pull through with that counter-argument video.

@@sheilasolosthemcu “pandering to white millennial women who love cats” you have that as your argument as to why the poetry is bad and you expect me to take your response seriously? Move on please Also, it’s not about not being able to understand her literary genius because it’s too advanced, it’s because out of context anything can be made to sound like “bad” poetry. How many poets works need context to be understood, way too many. Just because they are songs derived from poetry, and by Taylor, makes the public easily dismiss the value of the songwriting without giving it a chance already because she writes “too much about breakups or exes”
@sheilasolosthemcu
@sheilasolosthemcu Күн бұрын
@@metoziii when did i ever say that that’s the reason it’s bad? i just said that the combination of it and the poetry of the album just makes the record feel convoluted, messy and indecisive. i have separate reasons why some of the lyrics are bad. some lyrics are just not good even within the context. “touch me while your bros play grand theft auto” and “you smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate, we declared charlie puth should be a bigger artist” are just embarrassing even within the context of the song. not everything taylor releases is automatically good, to act like it is just means your perspective on literature is immensely skewed. even shakespeare had his shortcomings. and anybody who writes about a topic for an extended period of time receives scrutiny from the public for doing so e.g. nicki minaj (“she only raps about sex!”). it isn’t something that’s limited to taylor neither is it something taylor should be immune to.

Tbh, I'm low-key a swiftie & I was a bit disappointed in the album at first too. I don't know what I was expecting but the music felt a bit bland compared to her past work imo. I've always been a "more into lyrics than beats" person but still it didn't quite hit the mark for me. But then I listened to some songs again & they grew on me. I had instantly liked ICDIWABH for both beats and lyrics, much to my relief because I was panicking inside like 'oh no I'm a swiftie & I don't like anything on this album'. I grew to like Fortnight (tho I really wanted more Post Malone). So Long London was emotional & I like it too. Love Down Bad! Also really like loml & ttpd. So far the other songs didn't sound like ones I'd actually listen to. I think it's fine tho, it's very rare that we listen to all the songs in an album anyway. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the album as a whole but I don't completely hate it. This video made some good points but she sounded like she was mostly trying to pick on Taylor by quoting the most stupid lyrics on the most stupid songs. It's okay to do that but atleast give credit to the songs that's actually good too.

I feel like criticism of this album is more about surfing on the hype of her fame and people that don't like her using it to generate clicks. Is it too terrible that the she just wants to take things off her chest? Why is that only women are not allowed to convey life on lyrics while men do this all the time and gets no flack for it? For one, I obviously find her lyricism more important than the men the song is about and it is how she says it and not who she sings about. Reviews like this and the comments that generates feels like a bunch of mysoginists who were waiting to be hateful and pick me girls who thinks they are special and people who wants to monetize on someone who is a topic that will generate views which is ironic considering how many reviews uses capitalism to criticize her.

Go cry about it. EVERYONE ... INCLUDING men deals with criticism. Whatever things we put out for public consumption, we make open to public scrutiny. It isn't that men haven't dealt with being raked over the coals .... they just dont make themselves a victim over it. Alot of the actually talented singers in the industry, like Mariah carey and whitney houston also have dealt with their demons in public They would talk about it appropriately and then move on. They wrote songs about their experiences but did not share their experiences with the public at the time and only the songs. Even ariana grande has handled herself better than taylor ... when her fans attack, she is quick to reign them in. Taylor encourages it. She is a manipulative ok singer who has written a few great songs ..... she is way too popular for it to be organic. Most of the so called fans videos of her concerts flooding our feeds are really taken by and posted by her pr team She pays to override our interests in our feeds with videos of her. Yeah, that is PR. People are tired of her shoving herself down our throat. I want to be paid for having my interests shoved aside in favor of her. I quit using youtube shorts bc her pr campaign is out of control. I don't like her and dont know why i have to actively avoid her ALL THE FLIPPIN TIME. i like mariah carey and she NEVER pops up in my feeds anymore because self centered taylor cant handle not being the center of attention. Much as I appreciate the criticism, at least do a fact check Madamn! TS and her team never had any legal battle against Olivia Rodrigo. Jack Antonoff who is a co writer of the track in question clarified that on an interview. Plus Olivia confirmed via Rolling Stone interview that there is no bad blood between her and TS. Another thing, there are so much more on this album, sooooo mucchhh moorreee than just those lyrics you pointed out. If I may suggest, do not be a selective critique, judge the album as a whole not just nitpicking on few songs and just pick the lines that frustrates you.. Here are some of the lyrics to some of her other songs on TTPD : So Long London: I founded the club she’s heard great things about/ I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath/ I stoppеd CPR, after all, it’s no use/ The spirit was gonе, we would never come to/ And I’m pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free. loml: You shit-talked me under the table/ Talking rings and talking cradles/ I wish I could unrecall/ How much we almost had it all How Did it End?: Come one come all, it’s happening again/ The empathetic hunger descends/ We’ll tell no-one except all of our friends/ We must know, how did it end? There you go! It may not be applicable to you but how about to us that relates to this lyrics and to her music? Should we stop just because you don’t like it? You may not like the album or TS herself and that is okay but atleast be fair. That is all we ask for.

Whatever it is, I am still going to be a Swiftie because she is one of the rarest musician we got this generation. I dont give a fuck about who or how she is personally. I am just here for for the art. TTPD was meh in the beginning but started becoming a grower immediately. The album insanely became a grower for so many people. Definitely, there is something unique about Taylor that even haters admit. This woman is in the biz for more than 18 years but still managed to be on the top of her game for a reason. After The Beatles, she is the only one whose entire discography is consumed by milions in entirety and her albums age like a fine wine, regardless of what topic she is covering. Which sadly, most of her other mainstream peers lack. Her strength is her creativity and geniuseness but nobody is ready for the conversation.

Im sorry but this is such a bad take on the whole album. I can acknowledge that yes, ts is a billionaire and her sales of the variants is dubious but the actual content is not to be mindlessly consumed as you concluded. As an english literature student, the level of research and literary links that she has put intk this album has made it so rich. She encourages thought and consideration within her songwriting. Yet most of the songs still have a basic level of easily understood story. THERE ARE LEVELS!!!!! As for the idea that she is presenting herself almosg in a childlike way with "teenage petulance." Yes she is and that is interesting, she us not presenting herself as this perfect person but someone real and raw and honest which makes the album so impactful, especially compared to earlier albums where she is often the victim or the heroine. Here she is a human whilst also acknowledging the complexity of fame which is do intriguing. I did emjoy the video and i feel like there were some good elements of criticism but mainly about the sales ragher than the art itself. Any critiques if the art here felt purely as if they were attempting to just put down ts without giving her a chance. These sonfs aren't designed to be easily consimed, they are meant to be digested with thought. So give them that thought...

Only capitalism can create jobs; entrepreneurship, stimulate innovations and inventions. TS works hard and she deserves what she gets and if she is not good, she would be replaced. Capitalists can turn one hundred dollars into millions and provide jobs yet if you give the same amount of money in a socialist economy; people would just spent them until money runs out in the country.

girl i swear you are so wrong on SO MANY levels. first of all her personal life has ALWAYS been an inspiration to her (think red, 2012), but now suddenly it's a wrong thing? in the second place, whilst i can see some songs on the anthology being similar to folklevermore (which isn't a bad thing, or suddenly an artist can't replicate a sound he has already done?), the first part of the album has a very distinctive sound that whilst being synth-pop is still a lot different from midnights. We can also discuss the lyricism: first of all you cited only the campiest songs, why didn't you talk about loml or peter or how did it end or so long london? maybe 'cause you're an hater. then, some lyrics CAN be camp it's not a bad thing!!! "we declared charlie puth excetera" is her being IRONIC! but maybe you don't know what that word means i'm sorry.
