Hey Taylor, some advice from a heavy tech. If them lines are either bit loose (or any future line) tie your new line to your old one or a rope and start pulling. Usually in buses that “trough” holds everything but the lines and electrical shouldn’t be cinched down anywhere. I also have fittings on hand and usually put a male/male fitting to make one big line and then start pulling that way, it won’t be easy but in the world where a customer wouldn’t be happy with the “leave it solution” it usually works! Hopefully you get what I’m putting down. You’ve helped me in the past hopefully I can pass some knowledge🤙🏻

REMINDER : Install grommets where the lines go through the bays. REMOVE Josue from under bus when done. Great job on the repair.

You do know that 2 pins and 3 bolts and the entire nose of the bus swings open so you can access the power steering and everything in there right?

2 things Taylor. (1) to fix the hose length/fitting issue you may be able to get a mobile hydraulic line company fix them in place. (2) your local Cummins dealer should be able to sort out the generator and or at least be able to point you in the proper direction. Best of luck with it my friend. Love to see it

I have an 85 Eagle and the front bumper comes off with 4 bolts to reveal a spare tire compartment and easy access to the power steering lines. I’ve had to replace mine also. There is also one grease fitting in there for your steering

Old heavy duty mechanic trick is to shove a 10ga wire or so through the hose. You can get the length and make sure both ends or the same hose.

For the generator service, just go look up your local Cummins service center. They are actually equipped to handle a rig of that size, and usually they have at least a tech or 2 that know their way around those rv generators.

Something to think about most new rv's that have generators is they are on a slide tray so they are easier to maintain with your skills that could be a really simple project.

Just grab some JIC field servicable fittings and cut those ones off. They work very similar to AN compression fittings. I use them for the power steering on my S14, so I can make lines on the fly at the track if I have an issue.

Maybe someone with a portable hydraulic line crimper can swing by and you can cutoff the excess 8ft and crimp on the correct fitting!

Get sliding trays for that Gen set and batteries. Makes life so much easier when you have work on that stuff.

Hey Taylor! You might want to move the Nitrous Bottles on the top shelf of your storage. If they fell and busted the valve, you would have a missle.

Nice job! those lines are long enough, you could back the bus into a hydraulic fitting shop and have them cut and recrimp fittings onto them and the correct sizes so that you dont have to use adapters and also have a more reasonable length.

Highly recommend the buying the tool to crimp the lines and you cut them to length and crimp new ends on and have them the perfect size.

I’m not a car guy, but I’m really enjoying this series about the acquisition and the evolving of this car hauler RV bus. I find it interesting. I honestly had no idea that the wiring on a rig like that would seem to be so random and borderline messy. I always assumed that custom coaches were built in a way that maximized their organization and took into account accessibility when it comes to future servicing and repair. My assumptions certainly seem to be way off

Would highly recommend throwing some li time Lifepo4 batteries in there or battle born if you can swing it. They'll last for decades and if you put 2 of their 460ah batteries in place of the current ones you'll be able to run the ac all night without the generator plus you'll have 6,000 watts of output so you could run a welder with ease. A day of research on fellow youtubers Will Prowse's page and forms will teach you how to do it. Loving this build!
