As a mixed Filipino living in the states, I feel so alientated from this aspect of our beautiful, expansive culture. I love finding things like this, it's truly Filipino, void of any Spanish influence.

This is indeed very rhythmic and melodic despite it being around when the Tboli had no knowledge of western musical notes. I believe that this is indeed a treasure; a beautiful masterpiece of the people. I am happy I found this because I have been searching for this piece ever since I heard this as an arranged song for the St. Scholastica H.S. Choir of Manila. Hay. Napakaganda talaga :)

Malay is an Austronesian language. There is no such thing as an Islamic language, unless you're referring to classical arabic.

This is very beautiful. Even though I'm Filipino, I live in the U.S. and don't know much about the other ethnic groups in the Philippines. Thank you for sharing a part of a culture I always want to learn more about. :D And one doesn't have to be Filipino to enjoy the song!

this language is unlike any malayo-polynesian language I've heard of before... there are "F" sounds where in other malay language, their are no such sounds as the F... very interesting.
