New to the TTP version of BattleTech! Vet of the PC games and that sit in a pod with the joysticks and puddles and buttons and play BattleTech multiplayer at the arcade thingy way back in the 90's! Just have to say, reading manuals over and over does help but watching you guys just hang out and shoot the mechs was the best way to learn the TTP game! So thanks guys 07

Jay didn’t realise that his hatchetmans autocannon was a rotary autocannon so he could have fired up to 6 shots per turn

The gyro hit on the penetrator made it automatically fall bc shutdown and automatically take pilot damage so the pilot wouldn’t have woken up

I think pulse and LBX weapons have bonuses to hit.

Lbx cluster rounds have a -1 target number pulse lasers have a -2 target number to hit

Love CBT! I’m 20 minutes into the video, and noticed that you fire your smaller weapons first. The optimal way to do it is to fire the big damage guns fist to strip the armor, and then the small ones, hoping to get into the juicy innards opened up by the bigger hits.

I think that's okay, you just need to declare firing cluster damage weapons last

Also if you are using Long Range Weapons with ammunition, get rid of the ammunition to prevent critical ammunition hits later on. 😁

So here's an interesting idea to play. You and your opponent choose one mech from the opposing side to salvage. Winning side gets to take and KEEP the figure his enemy lost after the match is over. True method of salvage. This also adds to some more careful planning and execution of plans. :)

By the way, the Penetrator is a new Catalyst sculpt from the Hansen's Rough riders box and has not appeared in any other Lance boxes yet. The Snord's Irregulars has a Guillotine that is also in the Comstar Battle Level II box set.

Slight mistake on SRM hits; SRM missiles do 2 damage per, and each needs its own hit location. Only LRMs are counted in groups of 5 + extra.

Play classic Hexless. 1” = 1 hex. Turns count hex sides, small straightedge helps.

So this is BattleTech I'm intrigued but there's a lot of stuff I'm trying to wrap myself around lol so when buying the monos are they all the same or there actual faction specific minis?

There are effectively 3 'lists' (for lack of a better way to frame it): 1. Inner Sphere 2. Clans 3. Comstar Within each of those list there are dozens (or in the case of the Inner Sphere hundreds) of themed factions. There no real rigid lists. If you want to play and you're trying to decide what to go with check out Google Battletech factions and you will open a door to 40 years of lore and history.

Also as an aside the mercenary force I'm currently building uses models from all 3 force types so collecting models for the game can be pretty forgiving.

If you like to speed up the matches do double or triple range all weapons... The old days OG no hex big maps terrain we ran triple all the time made game fast \dynamic.

Cyclops was also a rank in the KKK (or at least Grand Cyclops and Exalted Cyclops were). Ironically, it is the Inner Sphere which ended up with the Cyclops and the Grand Dragon, not the Clans.
