I hope these kids realize how lucky they are to have an instructor like this. This guy has high standards and knows what he is talking about. Most importantly he teaches without talking down to any of these kids and is enthusiastic about it. You can also tell that they like this guy. Keep up the videos and the good work.

2 things...1. Thank you for subbing...2. Its so ironic you say this because the first comment I wake up to read this am is someone saying I'm the worst teacher ever and just treat the students like slaves...which mind you althought I brush it off, its never fun to deal with. And then I get yours...Thank you for being a good human and an asset to the community... We love comments from people like you! 👍 Thank you for taking the time to comment! It helps us! This guy is a true mechanic. He knows that you don't just slap shit together. He adds to the job to make it right. What the book does not outline. The book does not outline good mechanical practices. Those come from experience and common sense.Love seeing the inside of a stock Harley. Haven't seen it in a long time.

I have an 07 kaw 1600 meanstreak that uses hydraulic lash adjusters. the rocker case must be removed to get to the head gasket but will not be serviced. Is it still necessary to bleed the lash adjusters when reinstalling the rocker case? Thanks.

Thank you Amigo. My '05 R.K. is in the shop for the second time in 2 weeks. First, new 42mm Mikuni... Nice! Second, excessive oil out of breather... Obviously too much pressure. I checked the new oil level & just fine. Mechanic estimates $500. for the job. Ouch. Your video educated me in as much that at 10 y.o., the "sponges" are probably crap. Any feedback will be appreciated and confidential. Have a great day & thanx alot. BTW, 18,200MI. on engine ...?

At the beginning of the video lets say you cannot look into the cylinder through the spark plug hole to confirm, is it possible that both push rods can be even on the overlap stroke? I know they would be even on the base circle, and that's where you want to be. Or is it not possible to to have both pushrods/lifters even if they are not on the base circle.

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, it's extremely helpful. I've a silly question though, when we're bolting down the rocker arm assembly on a dry motor drained of oil, do you still need to wait for it to "bleed" to get that bit of free play? Probably not right? Because if there's no oil there's no pressure? Also what do we do when one of the rocker arms wiggle's but the other is stiff? Should we turn the motor or just wait longer? Thanks again for all the tips

Quick question. I have a 09 nightster xl1200n and have been running a mooneyes filter with a drag specialties breather tube to atmospheric. I once read that these motors need that bit of breather oil to return back into the motor. Everything else I've seen and read says no, it's bad for the tops of the piston. Noticed you mentioned the oil returning as well. So does it need that bit of oil to return? Amazing video. Thank you for any insight.

But I am having an impossible time getting the piston to TDC to reinstall the covers. I'm going crazy. Any advice on that? I figured out the bolt size issue. BTW, for some reason the bike I bought has 1 adjustable pushrod on the front cylinder which is coincidentally the one giving me problems. Any helpful advice? I have a manual but it's not helping me on this.

I’d been researching the crankcase rebreather and done a mod catch can since my Harley pukes a lot on highway speed and not nearly as much as when its just around the neighborhood ride. I know it may be the plastic part valve/ or screen that may need to be change. I have 2 questions and I would like to thank you in advance for any answer and am willing to contribute $ for your work on this channel. 1st question. Will recycling this puked oil back to the engine through lets say a vent hole through the oil cap or anywhere else help with the problem? 2nd question..I am considering changing the cam oil plate with hydraulic tensioner to SE ,, will that help with the oil issue? hi shane my name is shane too, I just reokaced the rear head on my 2005 Harley lowrider. 88inch injected motor, my problem is it seems like I'm not getting enough compression in that cyl. when I remove the plug and put my finger over it the comp. is low. took the rocker box off and tried it and the compression seemed good. there is a lot of air blowing up through the push rod area. can you help me? there was nothing wrong with the motor before I replaced the head. replaced the head only because I had an exhaust bolt break off and couldn't remove it so put another head on. so the bike ran great before the replaced head , am I missing something?

Hi I just replaced my front and rear rocker box cover gaskets and they still seep out oil I used the James Genuine Gasket. The front cylinder seeps out from the left front bolt on the left side of the bike closest to the front tire. As for the rear cylinder oil seeps out from the left rear bolt on the left side of the bike closest to the rear tire. Do you know what I should do? Thanks

Anyway, i have to end rocker noise.they say it's fine, but I'm thinking about doing rocker lockers and shims. I want to know if you recommend using those. I wishi had an extra motor just to rebuild it. It's like i have an addiction with it. You have any suggestions on finding use motors on the cheap?

Shane Conley amazing vids. The way you explain about the tension of the box. When take off,and where to set the piston. Seems like i have a noisy front rocker box. Plus it's leaking out the cover. I heard of a sleeve they sell to quiet down rockers. Bike still performs the same, great. But noise makes me worry.. They sell sleeves that the rocker bolts go thru. Does that sound right?
