I call her “Tita A.” as a term of endearment. But don’t be fooled. Ms. Agnes Pasaporte-Miranda is a powerhouse of a woman and one of the Filipino communities’ most well-respected, beyond outstanding and definitely one of the most beloved Filipino pioneers here in Canada. I am blessed to call her my mentor and dear friend. I’ll attach her bio below just so you can see for yourself what kind of awe-inspiring, motivating and awesome wholesome conversation we may, Godwilling, have this Wednesday! SEE YOU THEN.

Agnes P. Miranda of Toronto ON Canada, is an accomplished businesswoman and a strong supporter of the Filipino Community since she migrated to Canada in 1966. Agnes is the current President of the Philippine Independence Day Council, a non-profit Filipino - Canadian umbrella organization mainly tasked with the Philippine Independence Day celebrations bring together the fourth largest minority group in Canada. She is also a Senior Executive Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of World Financial Group Canada and a recipient of the WFG Pioneer Award for her substantial contribution to the growth of WFG Canada advocating Financial Literacy and Education not only among Filipino-Canadian but also globally.
Being extremely passionate about her advocacy of helping the community here and abroad, she continuously bridges and provides opportunities for Filipino-Canadian to promote and embrace Filipino Culture through her community programs, fundraising events and charity works that helped calamity victims in the Philippines and those who are affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
She became a true inspiration to the community and have garnered numerous recognition in both of her business building expertise and mentorship and her humanitarian deeds. Some of her most notable recognitions are:
- 2012, Agnes Miranda was awarded by the Philippine Independence Day Council as Outstanding Filipino-Canadian in the field of business.

- 2015, Agnes Miranda was awarded one of the Outstanding Asian Canadian in recognition for Exemplary Contribution to the Canadian Community given by the Canadian Multicultural Council Asians in Ontario.

- December 2015, she was also recognized by Kol Hope Foundation for children for her mission to help kids with disabilities around the world.

- 2016 , during the 25th Year Anniversary of Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto, Agnes Miranda received a Certificate of Excellence in recognition of her achievement, leadership, commitment and desire to make a difference in the community.

- 2017, Agnes Miranda received the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards.

- September 2017, Agnes Miranda received the Golden Balangay for Excellence in Business. The First Golden Balangay Award aims to promote excellence, hard work, higher education, entrepreneurship, public service, positive relationships and community involvement.

- 2018, Agnes was awarded as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World 2018 by the Filipino Women’s Network Agnes received her “Builder” award in London, UK.
- September 2020, Agnes Miranda received the most coveted Top 25 Legacy Award of World Financial Group, recognizing her and her team for the most number of families helped in her entire WFG career.

- In December 2020, Agnes Miranda sponsored two of the Alpha Kappa Rho Fraternity annual charity drives through the Pamasko Ng Akrho, which brightened 150 families holiday celebration through the Noche Buena Package Giving Program and Mula sa Puso ng Akrho, which distributed essentials and food to neglected and abandoned children at the Mother Teresa Spinelle’s Treasure, INC and Bahay ni Maria in the Philippines.

- 2021, Agnes Miranda was awarded by the Philippine Consulate General of Toronto ON Canada, the Community Service Award during the Quincentennial Commemoration of Christianity in the

- 2022, Agnes received the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Service and Leadership awards during the Mabuhay Philippines Festival Celebration at the XinFlix Studios in Markham ON.
Agnes Miranda’s goal onwards, is to help the young generation to fulfill their dreams in the field of sports, music, and literary arts and to continue her advocacy in the Financial Literacy and Education campaign, mentoring and coaching senior citizens to retire in dignity and to continue to serve the community.
