Rich is a stand up guy, and who has inspired me. I reach Advanced Trimix and have several dives over 240' . As time never stops, neither does technology. Still hope and push to one day see the Andrea Doria with my own eyes. Pretty much need a rebreather, and dive boats are becoming a lost source. Thank you Rich {John too} & Teach Me To Dive

Hey Richie, got 'Shadow Divers' when it first came out, & I can tell you this, I probably read it once every 4 years, & it never gets old. I have a question? Are there many U-boats at the bottom of the English Channel? As always...wishing you the very best in your amazing world.
@TeachMeToDive
@TeachMeToDive 5 ай бұрын
The first U-boat lost in the Channel were the U-12, U-16 and U-40 in 1939. From then on U-boats avoided the Channel for the most part due to fear of large allied minefields there. The last boats to be sunk here were U-1063, U-1195, U-275 and U-772 in Dec 44 - April 1945 - uboat.net/maps/channel.htm#:~:text=The%20first%20U%2Dboat%20lost,in%20Dec%2044%20%2D%20April%201945.

Great interview and video, thank you so much! I was curious listening to Richie speak about human remains…is there a reason why human remains were so prevalent and preserved in this U-Boat whereas the sea had already reclaimed them in wrecks that occurred later on such as the Andrea Doria?
@TeachMeToDive
@TeachMeToDive 2 ай бұрын
Good question! The nature of the wreck and the depth/temp help preserve a lot more of the sailers. This was much more of a penetration wreck and the areas that contained remains were protected more .
