Itachi doesn’t even use genius tactics like Shikamaru. He just uses hax Genjutsu and Mangekyo abilites to defeat almost everyone.

A guy who took on shikamaru's entire team and some extra guys while playing the whole time, the only reason any of them survived that battle was because nagato called them off. Their abilities of deduction aren't even comparable and he's the smartest guy in the show after (itachi's death of course), says all i need to know right there.

Thats because he is no Uchiha and has the Sharingan ..and his body cant control the leaking of Chakra ..whenever he opens the Sharingan..so that is why he hides it most of the time ..and even so ..he was constantly drained of Chakra ...that is why Kakashi ...was exhausted in the end. And thanks to a Naruto and Sai and Yamato and Sakura ...Kakashi regained hope... to win.

what do you mean by this? Azuma was one of a kind ..in battle. thats for sure. He was a very very strong Shinobi ...excellent in combat. Azuma ...was unrerrated ....he could have had more screentime.Unfortunately Azuma first had to figure out ...Hidans and Kazukus Jutsus and fight strategy ...and I am not sure ..if Azuma can make Shadow clones like a Kakashi. So he figured it out ..but it was too late for him. Shikamaru on the other hand ..gathered the intel ..that was needed for the success. Without Shikamaru and his knowledge ...Kakashi would have had even a harder time to beat the opponents. But ..Kakashi is always clever enough to first ...letting a shadow clone handel first battel ..so he can gather iintel on his opponent. Thats Kakashi. ...he uses first and foremost his shadow clones. As I agree that every Shinobi is unique in his special way ...I come to think that Kakashi had simply more luck than an Azuma. In strength ...they are not very different from each other.

I mean, Itachi did own Kakashi early in the series remember? a single tsukuyomi and Kakashi was suffering for years in that world. Kakuzu is actually top 3 up there with Pain and Itachi, in brute force I would say he beats Itachi but Itachi has good tactics, from Akatsuki as a whole Kakuzu has the most experience by a mile, it wouldn't be a surprise if he actually have some countermeasures for all the mangekyo sharingan related jutsus given his age, he most have seem enough amaterasu and susanoo in his life to know a trick or two, Kisame is strong but Kakuzu will overwhelm him with that much fire power as Samehada is not like that Pain that absorbs everything, Samehada actually has to eat the chakra, without the billions of papers Konan has in amegakure she have no real advantage over Kakuzu too, I remember a rumor back then which I cannot confirm right now, Kishimoto planned for Hidan and Kakuzu to be the ones who invade Konoha first and cause destruction but an editor of Kishimoto to just better go with Pain, it actually ended up being arguably the best arc of Naruto but imagine what were the levels of Kakuzu and Hidan in Kishimoto's head if they were supposed to be the ones invading Konoha.
