As you folks know, I do a lot of my recordings directly into my computer as if I was streaming on twitch or something. So being able to see what each camera is doing on a small monitor is pretty awesome when you aren't able to see them on the streaming software, not to mention they stay up all the time, so checking for weird stuff in your beard hair, making sure the camera cant see that you are filming in your underwear (I swear that has never happened... As far as I can remember...) You know, those important details. I have been thankful to have my 7" Lulliput screen but wanted a second one for another view of my screen. This TimbreCOD screen popped up on Amazon for a pretty decent deal and I figured I would give it a shot. I have often learned that "aftermarket" stuff on amazon may actually turn out to be pretty good and I personally think this is one of those items. Pretty dang heavy in a good high quality way and then some. Also I didn't see much in the advertising about if it had features like focus peaking, or different meters, or especially false colors, so it was completely a gamble purchase on my part. Also the fact that it mentioned that resolutions of the screen were 1920X1200 and yet it was a 4K screen, it made the theory a bit more interesting to test it out and make a video on. So if you like solving mysteries you will probably enjoy this video. If not I hope some of the other videos on here might inspire some other areas of interest for you. I personally love the monitor in the end and ended up swapping out my Lulliput and put this Timbercod in its place.
As of the making of this video here are some of the production tech and music tech I use.

1920x1200 is the actual pixel ratio of the the 7-inch monitor. It has nothing to do with the size of HD (1080p) or UHD format sizes. it is not a TV, (it's much smaller) so you don't need full pixel resolution to accurately monitor 4K content when the screen is only 7 inches diagonally. My Atomos Ninja Inferno has the same 1920x1200 specs and it's a $1200.00 monitor that records 4K, 60p-10bit content. So the size of the actual pixels that your monitor has, does not effect the size of your cameras content. Nice upload! I already have lots of 7 inch monitors...so, I'm thinking about trying their DC-56, 5.5 inch monitor...It's only 1920x1080, but at a smaller size it should still display crisp 4K footage from my GH5. Thanks for the review...it's the only one I could find on this company (Timbrecod)...I hope they hold up...I'm a little concerned about the internal battery concept, because when it goes (in the field) there's nothing you can do but recharge it, unless there's a power adapter to use this with a powerbank source.

Thanks for a very nice review! I have two questions about this monitor: 1) Can you use it plugged in with the bundled DC adapter? 2) Can it show you the audio DB meter to control the sound recording level during video shooting?

Please what A/V cable for the analog jack? A standard 3.5 plug only works if its hanging out about 1/3 or so... Thanks

Would like to see a tutorial on getting accurate color on the screen. Mine isn't matching my Panasonic video cam's color white balance, and playing the color temp and screen tint isn't getting me there.

I found simply bumping the contrast made all the difference for me, when I got mine it was very flat. Boosted contrast even slightly and my colors really came in a lot tighter to my camera's settings.

@@LegacyStudio What really turn the monitor into a bright and colorful great piece of equipment, was using the RGB channels one by one and boosting or dropping each one to get a color match for the overall image, THAT put it over the TOP. Now the image is very bright and beautifully clear, and it matches the video I get out of the UX180 Panasonic video camera. It really helps me see what the camera is giving me in real time and real color. TRY it.

Still have it and enjoy using it when I need the extra vantage point. I don't use it on its battery these days since it usually stays set up in my studio. But still works great for me personally.
