Suggest using a USB battery pack instead, safer than dealing with loose lipos.

I tried that first too! However, running the project off of a USB battery pack will produce an inconsistant blinking effect (most likely due the circuitry in the pack shutting off when not enough power is drawn, or too much). After testing many packs, I haven't yet found a USB battery pack that doesn't produce this issue, please keep us posted if you do thanks!

And what do you think is inside a USB battery pack? Those LiPo cells are perfectly safe to use with if you follow the basics - charge at a maximum current of 1C, and don't charge past 4.2v per cell.

@@r1m.dog78Most important is the protective casing, loose cells are easily damaged. The infamous Note 7 recall was due to one of the corners being compressed causing internal short circuits.
