This is my arrangement of the Technodrome theme from Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for native SNES playback.
It was the BGM for Scene 5 ("We Gotta Find the Technodrome!) in the coin-op game, and for Scene 7 in the NES version.
The audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES deck.
The 80s and 90s TMNT home and arcade games had some sweet music, so I thought I would take the granddaddy of the series and rework one of my favorite tracks - you know you're headed for the finale when this one starts to blare!
The video was recorded from the original 1989 arcade release of the game.
The samples used in the music were taken from the original arcade game and the SNES port of Turtles in Time.
And I will say that the spot where the orchestra hits go all out... what a nightmare it was figuring out those notes, hahaha! The original arcade track is a bit muffled (I'm guessing 1989 hardware and samples recorded at 8khz don't help), and that section all kind of smears into a muddled blur of notes. And that's not to mention how the original arcade track actually has a couple of badly wrong notes in those orch hit runs! So, I'm not sure if my interpretation is 100% accurate or not, but with no reference but my ear to go by, that's about as close as it is going to get. I listened to it over and over. Not that I minded since the music is fantastic, but there are far easier songs to cover than ones from this game :D What I would have given for a VGM file with mutable channels while making this-!
